2025 Netball Australia First Nations Tournament: Watch day two from Frankston
Both Queensland and NSW Waradas continued to extend themselves from the rest of the pack on day two of the Netball Australia First Nations Tournament. Watch the REPLAYS here.
Just two teams remain with perfect records intact after day two of the Netball Australia First Nations Tournament in Frankston.
After Queensland, NSW Waradas and Lutruwita (Tasmania) all began Thursday with 2-0 records, it was just the traditional rivals that ended the day with perfect 4-0 records.
However, with Waradas and Lutruwita facing off in the final game of the day, it was always going to happen.
After impressing on the opening day of action, Lutruwita took it right up to the Waradas before falling to a 44-32 defeat.
Despite leading 10-8 at the opening break, a 13-4 second-quarter in favour of the eventual victors ultimately became the difference in the result.
The win for Waradas added to their earlier 48-32 win over Victoria.
Queensland were the most impressive of the performers on day two, with two big wins placing them atop the ladder and leaving them as firm favourites for Sunday’s grand final.
A 42-26 win over Yakanarna (South Australia) was followed by an equally as impressive 51-23 win over the ACT.

PREVIEW
They have already claimed two big wins to start the tournament, and now the ladies of Lutruwita are starting to believe.
The green army was in full effect on the opening day of the Netball First Nations tournament, knocking off rivals Yakanarna by two goals before backing up in the evening session with a win over the Northern Territory.
The youngest team in Frankston this week, the Lutruwita side are building in confidence as they prepare for a big second day at the tournament.
Lutruwita will take on Western Australia and fellow undefeated side NSW Waradas on a big day of action on Thursday.
Every match from the Netball First Nations Tournament will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV and across all News Corp Australia mastheads.
Lutruwita coach and Netball Tasmania hall of famer, Fiona Geappen, said she was excited to see her side grow in confidence after the opening day.
“I think the hard thing was not knowing where everyone fits coming into the tournament,” she said. “SA made the final last year but they also have had some changes to their line-up.
“You don’t know what you are coming up against, so we just thought we might as well have a crack at it early and we were still in it at the end.
“It certainly gave them some confidence and the girls were really excited for the rest of the week. For a lot of these girls, they have never beaten SA in their life. To know we are in that contest and we are capable of taking the fight to the other states is a big thing.
“I can always tell them they are capable, but really that is just lip service. For them to go out and do it, and have that belief in themselves, it is massive. We will only improve as the week goes.”

One of their day two opponents, NSW Waradas, will pose a major challenge after the sky blues proved indomitable on the opening day of the tournament.
The Waradas picked up a comfortable win over Northern Territory to kick start their tournament, and took care of a smarting Yakanarna in the night session on Wednesday.
