A last-gasp win for Yakanarna (South Australia) over the ACT and the continued rise of competition dark horses Lutruwita (Tasmania), has turned the Netball First Nations Tournament on its head.
It was a shorter day of on-court action on day three of the tournament, with players breaking from the sport side of the event on Friday to take part in cultural immersion sessions.
But less games did not mean less action.

The Lutruwita girls proved they are no longer the younger siblings, taking down Victoria in emphatic fashion.
The youngest team in the tournament, with teen talents littered through their side, maintained its spot in the top three with a 34-26 win over Victoria.

The loss means Victoria will face a dramatic fight to stay in medal contention on the final day of the pool stage. The Victorians will enter Saturday’s action tied on two wins with the ACT and Yakanarna, all battling for the one spot in the bronze medal match.
Yakanarna kept its medal hopes alive with an emotion-fuelled win over the ACT.

Two goals in the final minute to skipper Olivia Clark helped the ACT draw level with their rivals, before the girls in red finally landed the winning blow through dominant goal shooter Sienna Wilson (26) in the final seconds.
Queensland and NSW Waradas maintained their unbeaten runs through the First Nations Tournament in comfortable fashion.
Queensland had to overcome a bruising battle against a plucky Northern Territory side, before pulling clear in the fourth quarter to win 39-26.

The Waradas rarely looked troubled in their 16-goal win over Western Australia, with Mia Evans and Jayda Grant combining for 43 goals in the 55-39 win.

PREVIEW
Queensland and NSW Waradas remain the only unbeaten outfits heading into Day 3 of the First Nations Netball Tournament in Victoria.
While the two powerhouses were accompanied by Lutruwita (Tasmania) at the start of Thursday’s play, the girls from the Apple Isle were bested by both Western Australia and the Waradas on Thursday.
They now have a 2-2 record.
Queensland knocked off Yakanarna (South Australia) and the ACT on Thursday, while the Waradas other victory was against Lutruwita.
Both Queensland and NSW Waradas will be in action on Friday, with all the action kicking off from 9am.

The Maroons will take on the Northern Territory to open the day at 9am, with NSW Waradas in the final game of the day against Western Australia from 12.45pm.
Lutruwita’s hopes of getting their tournament back on track will be easier said than done, with a battle against the host state Victoria on the cards from 11.30am.
Friday’s other match will see the ACT face Yakanarna from 10.15am.
Queensland produced the most impressive win on Thursday, knocking off fellow contender Victoria 47-25.

Shooting duo Makayla Cubby (14) and Georgia Lindsay (14) did the majority of the damage, with Lily Cubby (11) playing a nice cameo.
Friday will be the second-last day of regular action, with the finals taking place on Sunday.
