If their performance at the ASSRL Under-18s Nationals is anything to go by, the future of the Dragons is in good hands.

St George-Illawarra has landed a women’s double delight, with two of their juniors tearing up the field at Kayo Stadium this week ahead of the girls semi-finals.

NSW Combined High Schools duo Indie Bostock and Caley Tallon-Henniker have been two of the most explosive players in Redcliffe.

The lightning-fast duo have been key for the NSWCHS side, which heads into a semi-final showdown with state rivals, NSW Combined Independent Schools, on Thursday.

You can catch the game LIVE at 2.40pm as part of KommunityTV’s exclusive coverage of the week-long tournament.

Skilful centre Bostock from Warilla High School, is the younger sister of NRL hopeful Jack Bostock, who made his debut for the Dolphins earlier this season.

The younger Bostock, who is on a three-year deal with the Dragons NRLW pathways program, said it was not lost on her that she is lighting up the same field her older brother has called home in 2023.

“That is pretty cool,’’ Indie said.

“Growing up Jack was my biggest idol. He’d take me out the front, and out the back (of their home) to teach me how to play footy.

“And him coming up here (to the Dolphins) inspired me to keep going and get to where he is.

“He has dropped in to see me play up here and has given me a few tips.’’

Bostock has been incredible for the NSWCHS side across the tournament, including scoring a top shelf solo try against Victoria on the opening day of the tournament.

But not to be upstaged, her fullback partner, Tallon-Henniker, took it to another level on Monday when she scored four of her own against the same opposition.

“I hadn’t scored yet so it was good to score some tries,” Tallon-Henniker said.

Asked about where her pace came from, Tallon-Henniker said: “Mum would like me to say her, but it was from dad I think. He (Mitchell) played heaps of fullback growing up.’’

The girls competition steps up a gear in the final series, with games extending to 20-minute halves.

Queensland are the team to beat in the schoolgirls championship after they finished the pool phase undefeated and only conceded one try across six matches.
