Flinders College has made a clear statement that they won’t be backing dowjn from the finals fight after coming through with two huge wins on the second day of the Australian Basketball Schools Championships.

The Victorian school closed out the day showing their impressive workrate off the ball to upset fellow undefeated outfit Coomera College.

The win has propelled them to the top of Pool A in the Under-20s division two men’s competition as the race for finals spots heats up on Wednesday.

The thrilling contest capped off anbother massive day of action at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre.

The ladies of Westfields Sports High put themselves in the box seat for a finals berth in the under-20s division one women’s tournament.

Led by a starring performance from Kira-May Filemu and young gun Jessie-May Hall, the Westfields side easily dispatched of Henley High 88-18 to close out the action on Court 4.

Filemu finished the match with a game-high 27 points, including four from deep, to take her tournament tally to 67 points across three games.
