An incredible defensive performance along with brilliant individual displays from Ruby Perkins and Jessie-May Hall has led New South Wales to stun the hosts Victoria and progress to the final.
NSW ended the defending champions’ campaign with a 55-53 win.
Restricting Victoria to under 60 points for the first time this championships, NSW led by their ferocious attack on the opposition without the ball while Victoria’s turnovers in the first half also cost them.
NSW got the early lead, scoring 12 of the first 15 points of the game, before holding the lead throughout the first three terms.
Victoria fought back in the third term, keeping their northern rivals to six points for the majority of the quarter, and levelling scores at 33-33.
But the Blues got back on top as Perkins stole the show.
The point guard would land two major threes to give NSW a 41-35 lead at the final break.
NSW would then extend the lead to nine with under seven minutes in the final quarter before Victoria fought back.
The Vics were able to take the lead with under three minutes to go but star guard Hall had other ideas.
She would land two threes in the space of a minute to give NSW the lead back and it would prove enough to win.
Perkins ended on 19 points with Hall finishing on 16.
Meanwhile, an explosive first quarter has helped Victoria Navy remain unbeaten and secure its place in Sunday’s men’s championship final.
Navy defeated South Australia 89-76 but the win was set up in the late stage of the first term when the Big V got a break.
After SA got an early lead, scores were level at 9-9 with five and a half minutes to play.
Navy then scored 15 of the next 19 points to set up an 11-point lead at quarter time.
It was a margin too great for South Australia to get back, despite having a chance in the third term.
The Croweaters reduced the margin to four and had momentum with one minute left of the third quarter but Victoria had all the answers.
Navy extended the margin to seven before a three on the siren by James Robinson put a dagger through SA’s hearts.
Robinson was one of four players from Victoria Navy to score 10 or more points with Marcus Krasnadamskis (25), Ryder Cheesman (17) and Austin Foxwell (14) all contributing.

PREVIEW
If there was ever a game to show just how deep the 2025 Victorian women’s under-20 squad runs, it was their almost-perfect quarter-final performance.
Not only did the Vics comfortably defeat ACT 91-56, every player who took to the court remarkably scored at least five points or more.
But NSW will be out to test that perfection when the two sides meet in a final four clash at the Basketball Australia Under-20 & Ivor Burge National Championships on Saturday.
Every Show Court match will be live streamed on KommunityTV from 9am.

Victoria’s run to the semi-finals has barely had a blemish.
And it’s little surprise with the likes of Sienna Harvey, Manuela Puoch, Kyra Webb and Emilija Dakic leading a well-rounded roster.
On the other side, NSW will hope its star backcourt of Jessie-May Hall and Ruby Perkins can inspire an upset when the two sides face off at 5pm.
Last up on the Show Court on Saturday is another heavyweight battle between the Victoria Navy and South Australia men.
Navy have defied their development squad tag to go undefeated, although they were pushed to the end by NSW Blues in their quarter-final.
SA meanwhile has shown it has what it takes to win big games in close fourth quarters and will fancy its chances of spoiling a potential all-Victorian men’s grand final.
At 3pm, reigning champs Victoria will take on NSW in an Ivor Burge men’s semi-fina for a spot in the big dance on Sunday.
Every match of the Basketball Australia Under-20 and Ivor Burge National Championships will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV from January 28 – February 2.
