Nunawading Spectres have survived a late Spartans onslaught to book their ticket to the girls championship decider.
After being up 33-20 at halftime, the Spectres gritted their teeth to get the job done on the final buzzer 57-56.
Brisbane outfit, the Spartans, were impressive throughout the second half, with the Queensland side not giving up without a fight.
And a fight it was.
Winning the second half 36-24, the Spartans were within touching distance of an all-Queensland final, but the strength of Nunawading, which they have shown throughout the competition, proved too much.
Mackay Meteorettes v Melbourne Tigers (Girls, Champ SF)
The Sunshine state will still be represented in the championship grand final with regional outfit Mackay Meteorettes cruising to victory in the final quarter of their semi-final.
Despite the scores being locked at 20-all at the halftime break, the Meteorettes showed an impressive level of resilience and stamina to pull clear of Melbourne Tigers.
The Meteorettes were lethal on goal in the second half, adding another 38 points to their total.

With the full time whistle moments away, tied 40 points a piece, the teams put on a spectacle as they netted 14 points.
Despite both clubs missing out on the semi-finals, having been knocked out of the quarters yesterday, their efforts did not dwindle.
With neither South Australia or New South Wales being represented in the semis, finishing the game with a win and a higher ranking on the ladder was ever the more important.
Darwin Cyclones v Warrnambool Mermaids (Girls, Champ)
Canberra Nationals v Hills Hornets (Girls, Shield)
Sydney Comets v Manly Sea Eagles (Girls, Shield)
Newcastle Falcons v Penrith Panthers (Shield, Girls)
The Newcastle Falcons have defeated fellow New South Wales team Penrith Panthers 52-42 in a thrilling close bout.
It is the penultimate day of the basketball’s under 14 Club Championship and the teams brought the fire in today’s shield division games.
Only a three point margin separated them in the final minute of the game.
But the Falcons ramped it up and piled on another 7 points within seconds of the final whistle to finish the game with a 10 point lead.
While Western Australia will not have a team feature in today’s semi-finals, Rockingham Flames’ 51-36 win over Tasmania Tigers will keep the states’ spirits high.
Despite leading 35-15 at half time, the Tigers closed the gap winning the second 21-16.
