A performance as dominant as it gets at both ends of the field meant Ivanhoe Grammar had essentially wrapped up this Division 2 senior girls decider early. Catch up on the REPLAY.

Ivanhoe Grammar capped off an incredible season with their best performance yet, winning the Herald Sun Shield Division 2 Senior Girls Grand Final without conceding a point.

While goals flowed at one end, the defensive assurance shown at the other meant Our Lady of the Sion, who had been prolific scorers in pool play, were never a threat.

It continued a run of excellent tournament backline showings. In their two pool games earlier this month, Ivanhoe only let in a solitary point.

Ivanhoe never took their foot off the attacking pedal, scoring three in the first, four in the second, two in the third and finishing off with three in the last.

Aside from a run of four behinds in the second quarter, they never let their kicks at goal stray off target, eventually winning 79-0

POOL A WRAP

Ivanhoe Grammar School are into the grand final of the Herald Sun Shield Division 2 Senior Girls competition after an undefeated run through the Pool A finals.

Spearheaded by the left boot of full forward Olivia Bird, Ivanhoe Grammar shut-out John Paul College in the Pool A grand final.

Bird’s smart work to clean up a loose ball and toe it through the big sticks was the decisive blow for Ivanhoe Grammar while Pippa Medley added a late major to cap off the 2.8 (20) to 0 win.

It capped off a dominant day for the Ivanhoe Grammar side who had earlier defeated John Paul College 5.6 (36) to 0 and Donvale Christian College 1.8 (14) to 0.1 (1).

The Ivanhoe Grammar side will await the winner of Wednesday’s Pool B round robin series.

The hunt for Herald Sun Shield champions continues in September with the Senior Girls Division 2 finals taking over the fields at Casey Stadium.

The exciting finals series will be split across three days of action with Pool A matches taking place on Tuesday, September 3 before the Pool B action gets underway on Wednesday, September 4.

The two champion sides from each pool will clash in the Division 2 Senior girls grand final on Thursday, September 12.

Every match of the Division 2 Senior Girls finals series will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV across the three days.

The race for the Division 2 senior girls title has been blown wide open with reigning champions and grand finalists, Sacred Heart College and Genazzano College both failing to qualify for this year’s finals series.

John Paul College, Donvale Christian College and Ivanhoe Grammar School will contest the Pool A finals on Tuesday.
