WA featured in 10 of 11 grand finals on the last day of the AFL Masters National Carnival – and the tournament hosts put on a remarkable title-winning show. Watch the REPLAYS.

Western Australia has defended home turf in emphatic fashion at the AFL Masters National Carnival in a supreme grand final day display.

Featuring in 10 of the 11 deciders on the final day of the 2024 tournament in Fremantle, the Sandgropers dominated to take home a remarkable seven flags.

It included victories in the sought-after Men’s and Women’s 35s divisions over Tasmania and Queensland respectively.

Victoria Country was able to spoil the party for the home side in both the Women’s 40s and Men’s 50s Division 2 deciders, while NSW/ACT took out the Men’s 55s Division 2 title.

In the only grand final on Saturday not featuring WA, Vic Metro proved far too good for Queensland in a thumping win the claim the Men’s 55s Division 1 premiership.

It could be a Sandgroper domination on the final day of the AFL Masters in Fremantle as Western Australian teams look to finish a big week in style.

But it will have to stop a determined Tasmania looking to spoil the party.

The home state is set to play a major part with nine teams making the grand final in 11 games taking place.

The only game not involving the Sandgropers is Victoria Metro taking on Queensland in the men 55s Division 1 final on Fremantle Park.

At Fremantle Oval, it is set to be a battle between WA and the Devils all day.

The headline game is the men 35s grand final between WA Gold and Tasmania.

WA Gold has destroyed its opposition in their first two matches, winning their opening game by 97 points before beating a combined Victoria Metro, Victoria Country and NSW team by 112 points.

Tasmania is also unbeaten, winning both games over WA Black and the Presidents Men, and head to the final full of confidence.

The Devils will be relying on Gavin Quirk and Julian Sturzaker, who each kicked three goals respectively in the two wins, to kick a competitive total.

WA will also start favourites in the other finals against Tasmania - the men over 50s and men over 40s.

In men over 40s, WA Gold is the only unbeaten team after beating South Australia and WA Black in the two round robin matches.

Tasmania, with a large win over South Australia, on Wednesday, was able to qualify for the final.

WA, in over 50s, are also unbeaten, winning both matches against Victoria and Queensland in the round robin matches.

Tasmania is also in good form after beating by Queensland by 42 points to qualify for the final.

In the women’s finals, WA Gold takes on Victoria and Queensland in women 40s Division 2 and women 35s respectively.

WA will also face New South Wales in women 40s Division 1.

The other finals to be decided on the final day include Victoria v WA Gold in men 50s Division 2 and NSW/ACT v WA in men 55s Division 2
