Cygnet have ensured top spot is firmly secured with a thumping 62-point win over second place Dodges Ferry.
The Port came out of the blocks firing in the potential grand final preview to shut down the sharks run to claim a 11.16 (82) to 3.2 (20).

The Sharks were kept goalless in the first half, with their first major coming in the 25th minute mark thanks to Darcy East.
But the day belonged to the Port who held their heritage round match at Kermandie and showed why they are premiership favourites and a step above the rest of the competition.
The loss for the Sharks now will likely drop them to fourth on the ladder thanks to wins to Huonville and Lindisfarne.
It will make for an interesting run home for teams sitting second to fifth who are now separated by just one win.
Quick fire start
Cygnet have had very slow starts in recent weeks while on the flip side, the Sharks had been quick out of the blocks. Saturday’s top of the table clash was completely the opposite with the Port coming out firing with run and carry and plenty of pressure on the ball carrier while the Sharks looked to have no answers.
Finals like pressure
Years of finals experience was on show from Cygnet in the clash with the Sharks and the lack of finals experience showed with the young side struggling to match it with the best in the competition. In wet and slippery conditions, Port at times made it look dry but used the hunt and attack on the ball to crowd any chance of the Sharks trying to get out of defence in the first half.
Sharks costly loss
With Cygnet locking up the minor premiership in 2025, now the eyes turn to positions two to five. The loss by the Sharks will likely see them drop to fourth on percentage, just above Sorell with Hounville jumping into second with a big win over Claremont and Lindisfarne sitting in third spot with three rounds to go.

PREVIEW
Not many people expected a match in July between Cygnet and Dodges Ferry would have been the top of the table clash in the SFL Community League.
Cygnet remain undefeated and four games clear of Dodges Ferry who have surprised a lot of teams this season but this weekend’s clash shapes as a thriller.
You can watch the game at Kermandie live on KommunityTV at 2pm with the reserves set to kick start our double header at 12pm.
Sharks gun Luke Murphy said the success so far for his side wasn’t a surprise within the club.
“It is going to be a fair bit of a challenge for us but like everything is starting to fall in place for us at the moment, we’ve done the work, so it is just see how we go,” Murphy said.
“We’ve got the talent running around on the track, things are just starting to click for us and it’s starting to work, it is exciting but we knew it had to come eventually.
“It’s hard to say really, Teggy and Joey (coaches) have done a lot of work, changed how we want to play and a lot of the boys have bought in and numbers on the track, everyone’s doing the work together and we are enjoying each other’s company.
“We know their game style, obviously they’re a great team and they’ve got some big star recruits, so we’ve just got to try and shut that down early and just go hard at the contest.”
Port’s Will Cleeland said the Sharks will be a super challenge for his side.
“It’s going well, it has been a really good start to the year, we are very much taking it one week at a time and another really big challenge for us this weekend,” Cleeland said.
“They have had a good start to the year and it will be a super challenge for us in what will be a very wet and highly contested game, it will very much be a game of inches.
“Our starts to games have been a bit of an issue for us so if we can put the clamps on them early, I am sure we will be able to stay in the game.
“We never think we are out of the game, we have super belief in that sense.”
Cygnet showed why it is the best team in the competition the last time the two teams met back in Round 7 with a 61-point victory over the Sharks.
