After a month away from racing including a three week overseas holiday, Group 1-winning jockey Dylan Gibbons is raring and ready to get back into action.
Gibbons last rides were at Eagle Farm back on June 29 which included second aboard Semana behind stablemate Bella Nipotina in the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara.
“I had finished my apprenticeship now which was four years and I never had a proper break that whole time,” said Gibbons.
“I was ready to have a nice break and get a little freshen up.
“It was cold here too so it was nice to enjoy the warmth over in Europe for a few weeks.”
Gibbons has five rides at Warwick Farm including the Annabel Neasham-trained Tenniel who is chasing a hat-trick in the James Squire Handicap (2200m).

He was aboard for the three-year-old’s maiden win which came in a Class 1 at Wyong over 2000m on June 27 before Kerrin McEvoy took to win at Hawkesbury last start.
“I thought it was quite a good win the day I won her,” he said.
“She has taken a lot of confidence out of that and gone to Hawkesbury over the same trip and backed it up.
“Annabel has found another nice race for her and she could be one with a bit of upside.
“She steps up to 2200m but she saves her energy and wait for your queue to go. She has the right attitude.”
Gibbons reunites with Sweet Patriot in the TAB Plate (1100m) after guiding her into third place behind Lady Extreme on debut at Gosford last December.
“Her first two runs this preparation were very good,” he said.
“Canterbury can be a bit tricky when you get back. She was going well before that and I’d be forgiving of her run there last start.
“If she can bounce back to the form of her previous two runs, that would be good enough to be right in the finish in a race like this.”
Flying Chevrolet in the opening race ran an improved race second-up and can cause an upset.
“Her run the other day suggests she is going well. She was on the back of them without much room to really extend.
“She could be a horse who flies under the radar and surprises a few.”
Gibbons is familiar with Hide Your Heart having ridden her in her in her debut win while he partners Our Little Star for the first time.
