Lindsay Park Racing nominates Group 2 winner Arkansaw Kid for The Meteorite

Lindsay Park Racing has gone for one of its Group 2-winning sprinters as its representative in the first edition of The Meteorite at Cranbourne on Saturday.

Lindsay Park Racing has earmarked a Group 2-winning sprinter as its representative in Saturday’s $1m Meteorite at Cranbourne.

The inaugural edition of The Meteorite will be Victoria’s first slot race with 14 slots sold for the race and The Supernova, which will be run on Pakenham Cup Day next month.

Trainers Ben, JD and Will Hayes will run Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality winner Arkansaw Kid in their slot in The Meteorite.

Arkansaw Kid was nabbed on the line in the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes two runs back but finished midfield in the Group 3 Sydney Stakes at Randwick in his most recent appearance.

Lindsay Park Racing’s announcement was one of several confirmations of The Meteorite runners on Monday.

OTI Racing confirmed Cloudland would represent the syndication company in the race.

Cloudland was beaten in a Class 6 at Eagle Farm last month but bounced back to win the greys’ race at Benchmark 90 level at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day.

Scan clears Melbourne Cup scratching to run in Zipping Classic

Bloodstock agent Seamus Mills has decided to run four-year-old mare Kristilli in his slot.

Kristilli will debut for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr after the daughter of Hellbent had nine starts for the Annabel Neasham camp, producing a win in the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes as a two-year-old.

The Lofty Group will combine with the Nick Ryan stable to have Deepour as its runner in The Meteorite.

Deepour made late ground from the rear when beaten 2-¼ lengths in the Listed Century Stakes on Oaks Day at his first run for the Ryan stable.

Mornington trainers Pat Carey and Harris Walker will run consistent stakes-level sprinter Who Dares in conjunction with Sportsbet and the Melbourne Racing Club.

The final field for The Meteorite will be confirmed on Tuesday morning.

Barriers will be drawn at 10am.
