Race 3 No.3: Kerma Art

Dropped back from 1800m to the mile when just pipped by Jaz Tycoon on the course proper here two weeks ago. The extra trip here will suit.

NEWCASTLE INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1

Alice Mae was just pipped at Taree first-up then had to go back from wide gates at her past two starts. Worked home for a third to Emilia Jane here on Sept 3 and a seventh to Jupiter Hills here 17 days later when eased at the 300m. Drawn nicely and extra trip will suit. Vieri will take improvement from his debut third to Deconstruction at Wyong over 1200m. Tongue tie goes on. Cashburn is another who will be better for her debut fourth to Lucilago at Nowra over 1200m

Bet: Alice Mae each-way

RACE 2

Inoue is a first starter by Shalaa. Has won three of his four barrier trials and was second to Wednesday’s Rosehill winner Aye Aye Captain in the other. Big all-the-way wins in his two heats this time in. Bremel is a debutant by Capitalist. Close second to Amelita in her Rosehill trial on Aug 20 before leading all the way in her Sept 5 heat there. Iowna Benz is another on debut. By Winning Rupert, is a sister to the stakes-placed Iowna Merc. Won her two recent trials very nicely.

Bet: Inoue to win

RACE 3

Creek placed in five of his first eight starts with his best run a second to Street Magic at Wyong when he stepped up to 1300m. Resumed over 1250m here on Sept 21 with a strong closing win from near last to beat Marais. Should relish the 1400m. Rock Hard Love drops back in grade from a fourth behind Princess Cruizer in a BM64 over 1250m here two weeks ago. Blinkers go on. Draco’s Fire also drops in grade from his close fifth here last start.

Bet: Creek to win

RACE 4

Kosuke broke his maiden in good style a Class 1 over 1850m here last start. Faces tougher opposition but is a young stayer on the rise. Kervette scored a narrow but gutsy win at Wyong two starts back before a solid third to El Castello in a Randwick Midway both over 1600m. Up to 1800m for the first time. Also an acceptor in the Midway at Randwick. Fioprospero was a winner at the track and distance in August. Also in the Midway.

Bet: Kosuke each-way

RACE 5

Oakfield Badger made it three in a row when resuming with a win over 1007m at Taree back in April. Was been kept under a hold when a close second in both recent barrier trials. Florida Sky has a win and four placings from nice runs on her home track with that win coming over the 900m. Raced wide without cover when fourth to Reigning King and Akaka Falls here two weeks ago. Super Zippi is trialling well and will make her presence felt first-up.

Bet: Oakfield Badger to win

RACE 6

French Ruler closed well down the outside for second behind Wanaruah on debut at Canterbury back in June. He pulled up lame after shifting a plate in the run. Trials have been spot on and will be hard to beat first-up. Portfolia followed a debut third behind Insist at Kembla with a length second to Trapeze Legend at Scone. Improving with experience and will be prominent again. Omnic resumes as a gelding. Has claims on placings at his first two starts.

Bet: French Ruler to win

RACE 7

Restonica sat just behind the speed and hit the front about 150m out before being claimed late by the race fit Princess Cruizer when resuming over 1250m here two weeks ago. Will be better for the run and drops back to 1200m. Unwritten drops in grade from his sixth to Silentsar in the Midway at Rosehill on Sept 14. Placed two from seven at the track with his best result a second to Denman Star here on Aug 8. Magic Shadow is racing well and should be kept safe.

Bet: Restonica to win

RACE 8

Rip Off is having a great campaign with two wins and two close seconds from her four starts and the mare can add another win top her record. Raced third without cover behind a big leader when too good for Crop Duster over this track and distance two weeks ago. Drawn to get a nice run. Flying Rani appreciated a drop in grade when she scored at Hawkesbury over this trip with 59kg last start. Satin Shimmer is racing in terrific form and is a major player.

Bet: Rip Off to win
