INSIDE MAIL – KEMBLA
RACE 1: 2yo Super Maiden Hadicap (1400m)
SMASHING TIME (2) was very good on debut when trapped three-wide in finishing a two-and-a-quarter-length third behind Hezdarnhottoo and Imperial Force over 1100m on the Kensington. The runner-up has since come out and won impressively at Canterbury this week. The 1400m looks ideal. MEDIA WORLD (3) was fifth to Eneeza on debut in December. Will be fitter for her first-up third to Fearless at Newcastle. INTERJECTION (1) was runner-up to Killcare Beachgirl at Wyong on debut after sitting wide.
BET: Smashing Time to win.
RACE 2: Colts, Horses and Geldings Maiden Plate (1500m)
MONTY THE MISSILE (2) had trialled very well prior to his debut at Newcastle a fortnight ago when beaten a nose by Lulumon over 1200m. Steps up to 1500m, drawn well and gets a 2kg claim. PARADE GROUND (8) is closing in on his maiden win after three second placings. Was just beaten by a smart one in Briasa in a Super Maiden here first-up before a close second to Star Blazer over 1350m at Wyong. JUMP IN THE LINE (7) won’t be far away.
BET: Monty The Missile to win.
RACE 3: Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate (1500m)
AMERICAN STARLET (2) ran into Unique Ambition on debut in a Super Maiden at Newcastle when runner-up before going down a head to Point Out over 1200m as an odds-on fav but she did race wide without cover. A daughter of American Pharoah, will appreciate the 1500m. JAWHARAT DUBAI (7) worked home well for third to Makena two starts back before leading when third to Wizards at Hawkesbury. ZEEMA (10) is also coming off two third placings and won’t be far away.
BET: American Starlet to win.
RACE 4: Maiden Handicap (1300m)
ASK THE WIFE (1) worked forward to lead and raced greenly before finishing third to Single Attraction on debut at Queanbeyan on Dec 4. Will take plenty of improvement from the experience and can run a bold race on his home track. IRISH BLISS (3) is another who will benefit from his debut sixth on the Beaumont on Dec 26. Nice second in his trial last month. MEGA FIGHT (10) had some handy form last campaign including a narrow second to Abuse Of Power here on Dec 30. Won a trial here on Apr 10.
BET: Ask The Wife each-way.
RACE 5: Benchmark 68 Handicap (1300m)
MONTE SUPREME (9) came from a long way back when third to Navy Blood after a short freshen-up at Gosford on Jan 24. Freshened again with a trial win in between before closing strongly to beat Lulumon here on a heavy 8 over 1000m. Up to 1300m. HERB (5) was doing his best work late when coming from last to finish a three-quarter length third to Bully For You here first-up. He is a winner over 1400m here. KHUMBILA (4) is chasing a hat-trick after two all-the-way wins at Hawkesbury.
BET: Monte Supreme to win.
RACE 6: Class 1 Handicap (1000m)
MONTE KATE (3) debuted with a handy third at Canterbury before scoring her maiden win over this track and distance on Dec 30 and placing at her next two starts. Returned from a freshen-up with a fourth to Left Field at Newcastle after leading. RELUCTANCE (4) – a close relation to Chautauqua – sat outside the leader and after a good battle in the straight, came away late to score a nice win from the closing Queen Calanthe when resuming at Goulburn. MR MIDNIGHT (2) didn’t like the heavy track here last start after a handy win at Newcastle. Keep safe.
BET: Monte Kate to win.
RACE 7: Benchmark 64 Handicap (1200m)
PHYSICAL GRAFFITI (5) was third in the 2022 Breeders’ Plate on debut before then was off the scene 18 months. Returned with an impressive win at Gosford. Both runs were on heavy ground. WOLVES (6) is backing up from a last in the Sapphire Stakes at Randwick last Saturday after racing very wide. Was a winner at Hawkesbury between two seconds in city grade. INVINCIBLE SPY (3) won his first two starts before stepping up to the Spring Stakes at Newcastle on The Hunter Day. Trialling well ahead of his return here.
BET: Physical Graffiti to win.
RACE 8: Benchmark 64 Handicap (1500m)
PIPISTRELLE (11) has been good in all four starts this campaign which has netted one win so far. That was at Newcastle second-up and she followed up with a third and a second at the same track. Looks well placed to add another. PURE HYDROGEN (3) got well back but made up some ground last in the Prov-Midway Wildcard behind Terra Mater at Newcastle last start. Was a handy fourth to Owari when resuming before that. DESTINY’S DELIGHT (6) has improved with each run this time in and battled away for third to Sailor and Pipistrelle at Newcastle last start.
BET: Pipistrelle to win.
