INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1: CLASS 1 PLATE (1800m)

Casanova sat outside the leader to win his maiden over 1400m at Gundagai on Aug 6 then stepped up to a 1600m Class 1 at Newcastle when just pipped by Dubai Flyer after leading. Suited stepping up to 1800m and gets in well with a 3kg claim. Up And Comer was seventh in that race at Newcastle after being held until near the 150m and finishing off strongly. Blazing Sword was fourth behind Al Ras Blues in a Super Maiden here second-up before working home for a close second to Cristal Clear at Goulburn.

Bet: Casanova each-way

RACE 2: MAIDEN PLATE (1000m)

Nymphadora raced in strong company in her first two campaigns including a fast-closing third from last to Odinson in the Inglis Nursery at Randwick. Trialling very well and gets her chance to break through. Up The Front closed off well for fourth behind Rantan on debut over 900m at Newcastle in April. Was doing his best work late when second to Zouper Fellow here on Aug 26. Miami Baby is a debutant by Night Of Thunder from the Kris Lees yard. Trialling well.

Bet: Nymphadora to win. Exacta 12 / 8, 9, 10

RACE 3: 3YO SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000m)

Couples Retreat led and was caught late by Enriched who tracked her and got up her inside. She will be better for the run and can go one better. Obscure was a beaten favourite on debut when fourth to Seascape at Gosford before an eighth to Concordia Wind at the same track. Back from a spell and has been good in finishing third under a hold in both recent trials at Warwick Farm and Hawkesbury. Triple Tempo is a debutant by Yes Yes Yes. Sat four-wide in winning his Warwick Farm trial. Wide again when second in his latest heat here.

Bet: Couples Retreat to win

RACE 4: MAIDEN PLATE C,G&E (1400m)

Gone Bananas was specked from $21 into $11 on debut here on Aug 22 when he missed the start by three lengths. He was 10 lengths off the leaders at the 1000m before finishing a two-and-a-half length seventh behind Spanish Fox over 1300m. Drawn well and just needs to jump with them. The Three Hundred was beaten a nose by Froebel Star in a Warwick Farm maiden before contesting the Listed Fernhill won by Broadsiding. Has been gelded. Listentozou tried hard when second to Spanish Fox last start.

Bet: Gone Bananas each-way

RACE 5: MAIDEN PLAT F&M (1400m)

Pinito went three-wide on the bend and was grinding away before doing her best work inside the final 100m when beaten a nose by Shohisha over 1300m at Warwick Farm. Blinkers go on and steps up to 1400m. My Phar Lady debuted with a sixth behind Dance To The Boom over 1200m at Kembla. She was checked at the 300m and should have finished a little closer. Steps up to 1400m and will keep improving as she gets up in trip. Spaceballs was fifth in that same race on debut. Keep safe.

Bet: Pinito to win, My Phar Lady to place

RACE 6: CLASS 1 HANDICAP C,G&E (1300m)

Threatening caught the eye with a closing third behind Zouripper at Canterbury first-up before being backed into odds-on and winning his maiden over 1300m here. Bumped into a couple of handy ones last start when third to Komodo Dragon and Pocketing at Kembla. Spanish Fox was runner-up in four consecutive starts to end last campaign and started this one before breaking through with a good win here. Can go on with it. Draco’s Fire raced well in his first preparation only missing a place once. Nice second to Sivka Burka in his Rosehill trial.

Bet: Threatening to win

RACE 7: CLASS 1 HANDICAP F&M (1300m)

Flying Rani worked home from last to finish second behind Misty Legend over 1000m first-up at Wyong before a fourth to Zeitung and Bonita Queen at Canterbury. Was fifth to Bonita Queen at Warwick Farm last start. Back to a Class 1 and ready for the step up to 1300m. Struff is closing in on another win after handy effort to place at Kembla and Goulburn her last two starts. Satin Shimmer will take confidence from her all-the-way maiden win at Muswellbrook first-up.

Bet: Flying Rani to win

RACE 8: BENCHMARK 68 (1400m)

Just A Brother ran a nice third behind The Extreme Cat over 1300m here two runs back before coming from near last when a half-length second to Osman in the Forbes Cup on Aug 4. Mondo is shooting for a hat-trick after good wins at Newcastle over this trip. Wide gate the only query. Flying Bandit and Cash Me have claims.
