BEST BET

ST VINCENT’S GARDEN (Race 7 No.10): The stayer fought gamely to score at Geelong last time after a good effort in Sydney. He’s capable of making it two in a row at Sandown.

NEXT BEST

LIFE AFTER LOVE (Race 2 No.7): Caught the eye with the way she finished at Caulfield third-up. She’ll be at peak fitness and the extra distance suits.

EUGENIUS (Race 6 No.11): Improved significantly getting back on to the turf second-up behind a smart wet tracker. He’ll be fitter again and should be thereabouts.

LAY OF THE DAY

MAKDANE (Race 8 No.8): Makdane controlled proceedings to win his last two from the front at Geelong. He’s up in class in a much bigger field and will have to work much harder to lead from a tricky gate at Sandown.

THE JOCKEY

CRAIG WILLIAMS

Jockey Craig Williams heads to Sandown Hillside for eight rides on Wednesday. ORAQUA (Race 1 No.10 – $7.50), LOPE DE LARDO (Race 2 No.1 – $4.60), SUN SETTING (Race 3 No.7 – $4.40), CHARMED RUN (Race 4 No.7 – $9), TEN DEEP (Race 5 No.8 – $3.50), ARTISTIC GENIUS (Race 6 No.18 – $4), ST VINCENT’S GARDEN (Race 7 No.10 – $7.50), MAKDANE (Race 8 No.8 – $3.30).
