JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Talented apprentice Braith Nock has a nice book of rides and looks a chance in the TAB Jockey Challenge.
SYLPH (10) is an I Am Invincible half-sister to Group 1 winner, Booker. Sat back and was strong through the line when second in her Randwick trial. Sat wide and was good when second in her Warwick Farm heat. OUTER BANKS (5) is a brother to Group 1 winner Captivant. Sat wide and asked to extend to beat West Of Swindon in his Mar 10 trial before holding out Vinrock on his Mar 28 trial. GRAND EAGLE (2) was runner-up to the promising Kilman on debut before a fourth to Buffalo at Newcastle when eased near the 50m.
BET: SYLPH (10) to win.
RACE 2: 3yo Benchmark 64 (1100m)
INSIST (3) raced back and wide before closing with a strong run to beat Ride The River over 900m first-up at Newcastle on a day favouring horses on the fence. Drawn to get a nice run and can go back-to-back. COUPLES RETREAT (8) was good in her first campaign with a smart win over 1000m here and two placings at Warwick Farm. Good trial win at Warwick Farm on mar 21. NOW IS THE HOUR (7) resumed with a handy fourth at Canterbury before a second to Olufsen at Wyong.
BET: INSIST (3) to win.
RACE 3: Maiden Handicap (1600m)
FULL HAO (7) was taken back to last from the outside gate when going to be caught wide before closing strongly later for fourth to Meridiana on debut on the Kensington. Step up to 1600m suits. VIKTOR (1) was disappointing when fifth at Newcastle first-up before a better effort when third to Fleeting Spirit on the Kensington. EXISTENTIAL BOB (5) was just caught near the line first-up when third to Amplify. Will be prominent again.
BET: FULL HAO (7) to win.
FLYING BANDIT (5) won over 2000m here followed an 1800m Randwick Midway win in November. Returned with an eye-catching third to Imposant in the Provincial Championship Qualifier at Kembla over 1400m. Will appreciate the step up in trip. I AM THE EMPIRE (4) kicked off his campaign with a narrow win from Campaldino over this trip. CAMPALDINO (9) was a length second to Mawjood first-up before being beaten a nose last start. Meets I Am The Empire 1.5kg better.
BET: FLYING BANDIT (5) to win.
STATE OF AMERICA (8) was held up until the 200m when third to I Am The Empire on the Kensington last start. Has a win and a third from two runs here. BEAR ON THE LOOSE (6) scored a game win from Don Diego De Vega over 1800m at his Australian debut at Rosehill last June. Runner-up to Floating at Randwick first-up last time in. SAGANTI (4) was Group 3 placed over 2400m in France last June. Was a closing fifth to Fawkner Park in the Rosehill Cup over 2000m at his Australian debut last November.
BET: STATE OF AMERICA (8) to win.
WRITTEN IN CODE (1) was rewarded for her consistent form with a win at Moonee Valley to end last campaign. Kicked off this prep with a nice win coming from last between runners to beat Canara on the Kensington. Drawn the pole and gets in well with the claim. MIDNIGHT DYNAMITE (6) didn’t handle the Flemington straight six in the Inglis Sprint first-up. Improved effort when second to Ballroom Bella on the Kensington. Will be prominent again. FUGITIVA (9) had little luck when fifth in Provincial Championship Qualifiers at her last two starts.
BET: WRITTEN IN CODE (1) to win.
RACE 7: Mares Benchmark 72 (1100m)
LONHRO’S QUEEN (1) went from a maiden win to a two-time Highway winner in five starts last year. Resumed with a stylish win by over two lengths after coming from last at Scone on Mar 21. Gets in well with the claim. STARMAE (3) had just one start last campaign when a winner from Mr Bingo over this trip at Wyong. Raced with when resuming in the MM Maiden at the Gold Coast the previous preparation when down the track. BE QUIET (10) led and won at Kembla first-up before a second to Written Scandal at Gosford.
BET: LONHRO’S QUEEN (1) to win.
RACE 8: 3&4yo Benchmark 72 (1500m)
RUSH ATTACK (5) followed a 1500m Rosehill Midway win over It’s A Wonder with a nose second to subsequent Tulloch Stakes winner Pocketing in a 1600m Randwick Midway. Locked up back in the field until near the 300m when sixth to Inferencia at Rosehill last start. Back in grade and will give a sight. ENTER THE DRAGON (11) followed a first-up win with a second to the promising Money Team at Wyong before bouncing back with a good win from Magnucat at Kembla. MICKEY’S MEDAL (2) has claims.
BET: RUSH ATTACK (5) each-way.
