BEST BET
Race 4 No.11: CHILLI FILLY
Blue blooded filly from the Kris Lees stable who has trialled like she will go on to better things.
NEXT BEST
Race 7 No.14: TRAJECTILE
Daughter of VRC Oaks winner Hollow Bullet who ran well over 1100m debut, 1400m now is ideal.
VALUE BET

Has done enough in city and provincial races of late. Won seven from 50 and placed 14 times.
QUADDIE
Race 6: 3,4
Race 7: 14
Race 8: 3
Race 9: 1,2,5,7
JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

GOULBURN
BEST BET
Race 4 No.9: DOMAIN GARDENS
Savabeel filly from the John Sargent camp who could end a classic filly by the end of the season.
NEXT BET
Race 1 No.7: COST ME NOTHIN’
Makes her debut at home from a good draw and off an encouraging trial at Nowra.
VALUE BET
Race 7 No.5: CHOISIR’S CHOICE
Lightly-raced gelding who has talent when “right” and has trialled keenly.

RACE 6
Don’t Forget Dad has only won three out of 35 but he has placed 17 times so is a pretty reliable sort. He was runner-up here to Yes Yes Yes’ sibling Vilified here on August 11 then went to Kempsey and dead-heated for the win. Jon Grisedale again on Friday. Shihab paid a price for barrier 13 of 13 here on August 11. He was actually not too bad for a horse that clocked in seventh. Higher Hand is one for one at the track/trip as of August 11.
Bet: Don’t Forget Dad to win, box trifecta 3,4,5,11
RACE 7
Trajectile is a daughter of VRC Oaks winner Hollow Bullet. Trained by Kris Lees, Trajectile was $12 into $7.50 when finished fifth of nine at Scone on debut, beaten a diminishing 1¾ lengths. The salient point to make is that was 1100m, this is 1400m – perfect. Sunrise At Kirra has been beaten a fair way at her two starts but she ran into a good one here on debut and you just sense that 1400m is the go with her. Dashing Power has claims.
Bet: Trajectile to win, exacta 14 to beat 13
RACE 8
Apache Belle raised the bat on her 50th start when she raced at home at Wyong on August 27. For the record, she has won seven times and placed on 14 occasions which is quite an admirable record. She has been quite good in patches this preparation. What stands out is that she has been running quite okay against better horses in better races than Friday’s Cup. Izfallingdown kept whacking away at the end of the 1600m Narromine Cup last start. She’s one for one at 2100m. Zounqiue is sturdy gelding who is very fit for the 2100m.
Bet: Apache Belle to win, quinella 3,5
RACE 9
Elleves has really hit his best stride on the last couple of starts. That much is obvious given that the Kris Lees-trained son of Vancouver went back to back at Tamworth and Scone respectively. Those wins were in a Class 1 then a 58 and this is a 66 but doubt we would get any argument that the field he beat at Scone was better than this. Indy Rose Warrior will be out of Highway class if she wins this. Point there is, she actually ran quite well on a couple of them. Good fresh horse, no public trial, but she will be ready and able.
Bet: Elleves to win, quinella 5,7
INSIDE MAIL: GOULBURN
RACE 4
Domain Gardens has classic filly written all over and who would you want other than John Sargent to train her? She could be in the Wakeful and/or the VRC Oaks. Let me rephrase that, they are probably looking at her as a potential Wakeful/Oaks filly. Snap Book is a Donna Scott-trained gelding with a tidy little CV. He was kept safe at $21 when he ran a terrific race in the Melody Again Highway at Rosehill two weeks ago. Mile suits – a lot!
Rent A Rock has decent numbers at this track/trip.
Bet: Domain Gardens to win, exacta 9 to beat 2
RACE 5
Snapback was sold for $825,000 at the Easter sale in 2022. He’s a Snitzel colt out of Later Gator so has a stallion’s pedigree should he build on his neck second in the Queensland Sires Produce. Ran fifth in the Atkins after that, spelled, won a trial at Rosehill on August 22. Nice colt. His danger could be another pricey Snitzel, that’s Casablanca, who was knocked down for $1.4m at the same Easter sale. Market will help tell the story. There There has placed at five of her six runs and ran August Bloom to a beck last start.
Bet: Snapback to win
RACE 6
Rhythm Of Love is a son of Australian Guineas winner Grunt and is looking like a bit of a bargain given that John O’Shea found him at the Inglis Classic for $40,000. He’s won half that back in three starts and everything about him says he is city standard. Panic is an interesting horse. He is on debut here having trialled well and in fact, he beat Rhythm Of Love in that August 15 heat at Randwick. Has talent. Triple Crown/Snowden Racing colt Densetsu has Rhythm of Love/Panic form from his trials.
Bet: Rhythm Of Love to win, quinella 1,9
RACE 7
Choisir’s Choice is a lightly-raced five-year-old who has raced just eight times so far for a win, a second and a third. The Amanda Turner-trained chestnut has been to Goulburn twice and was placed both times. Fast forward to the present and Choisir’s Choice was very impressive winning his Warwick Farm trial beating Saturday’s Theo Marks participant Cross Talk et al. Raise Hell is a hundred times better than what we saw at Bathurst. Back home for this. Expect a whole lot better. Deep Shimmer is very quick and has a winning draw if she is good enough to convert.
Bet: Choisir’s Choice to win
