INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1

Les Vampires started a $1.55 favourite on debut at Canterbury two weeks ago where he finished a half-length third behind Mural Crown. He laid out on the turn and was a bit green in the run home but will take plenty of benefit from the experience. Encap was scratched last Wednesday and saved for this. Was a handy third on debut at Warwick Farm back in March. Resumed with a fast-finishing second to Undivided over 1100m at Warwick Farm on July 19. Gelatin got into a bumping dual in the straight and was doing his best late when third to Tutta La Vita second-up at Rosehill back in June. Returns from a let-up and recent trial was very good. Carrazana has trialled impressively in both heats.

Bet: Les Vampires to win

RACE 2

Outsider settled last and beat one home behind Chorlton Lane over 1300m at Rosehill on July 1 before sitting midfield and coming wide on the bend to close off nicely for a short-neck second to Good Omens over 1600m here 18 days later. Drawn well and can go one better. Sir Bailey showed the benefit of a run under his belt and getting on to dry ground when he finished a close third to Media Starguest over 1550m at Canterbury two weeks ago. Looks the one to beat. Cabaca stormed home from well back to score by nearly two lengths when resuming over 1350m at Doomben a fortnight ago. Don Pedro drops in grade and has claims on his prior two placings.

Bet: Outsider each-way

RACE 3

Awesome Wonder raced three back on the rails and was held up in the straight as she had to come across heels to get to the outside before running on strongly for a 1¼-length second to Botany over 2400m at Sandown Hillside on July 26. Should have finished closer. Drops back to 2200m. Okataina has placed runner-up in both runs at Warwick Farm including his latest run on July 19. Rolled along in front setting up a five-length lead early before finishing a neck second to Venetian Blue over 2130m. Will figure prominently again. New Republic has had a long campaign but is in terrific form. Nice win over 1900m at Canterbury two starts back before a close second to Enotis last week. Olympic Theatre is not without claims.

Bet: Awesome Wonder to win

RACE 4

Secaution kicked off last preparation with a nice win from Outlawed over 1200m here back in February then was overhauled late for a close second to Obvious Step at Newcastle on March 9. Resumes off a nose second in his Warwick Farm trial after racing wide throughout. Xtravagant Star won her first two starts including the Inglis Millennium at Randwick in January last year before finishing unplaced in her next five starts. Has changed stables and been held together in both recent trials. Sweet Baby Boom showed handy ability in her three starts before an injury has kept her away from racing for 17 months. Has had two trials and expect her to run well with improvement to come. Smokeshow is worth including in the multiples.

Bet: Secaution to win

RACE 5

Real Peace is knocking on the door for a win and a better draw here can help him break through. Came from near last with a good run to finish second to Powerful Peg here over 1400m before an unlucky neck fourth to Forecaster over 1600m at Randwick after coming from a mile back. Lolly Yeats rolled forward to be outside the leader and hit the front on straightening before being caught on the line by Media Starguest at Canterbury second-up. Ready to peak now. The Replicant backs up from his closing third to Sweysive on the Kensington track last week after being held up into the straight. Yukon will be improved by his first-up run here three weeks back.

Bet: Real Peace each-way

RACE 6

Ottilie led all the way for a big win over Terra Mater this track two starts back before jumping up in grade when a 1¾-length fifth to Fearnought at Randwick on July 15. Big chance again. Stars And Bars appreciate stepping up to his pet distance of 1300m with a tough win at Kembla last time out. Was a tragedy beaten at Newcastle two starts earlier. Ready to be tested in midweek grade and Rachel King sticks. Marquess is back from a long break after going back-to-back at Hawkesbury and Newcastle. Was runner-up to Mr Brightside at his second career start. Cream Rises boxed on after a tough run to be beaten three lengths by Soami in a Midway at Rosehill last start. Back in grade and can figure.

Bet: Ottilie to win

RACE 7

Boss pushed up to share the lead and dashed away to score by two lengths from Secret Revolution over this track and distance three weeks ago. Up in weight but drawn the inside and a big chance again. Our Korbison had to do plenty of work when trapped out four-wide when third to No Statement over 900m at Newcastle when resuming on July 8. Bounced back with an all-the-way win over the same track and distance three weeks later. Goes up in grade and distance. Secret Revolution was held up rounding the turn until just before the 100m when runner-up to Boss. Very consistent gelding. Biographer is racing in good form this campaign and is worth including in the multiples if he gets a start.

Bet: Boss to win
