The Daily Telegraph form analyst Mitch Cohen gives his best bets and runs the rule over every race for Wagga on Thursday.

BEST BET

Race 6 No.12: PRINCESS NEFERITI

Ultra consistent mare that hasn’t missed the placings in six starts to date. She can add a second win to her resume here.

NEXT BEST

Race 2 No.4: MILLER TIME

Only narrowly beaten last time, she can go one better. The 3kg claim of Emma Ly should help her cause with 53.5kg on her back.

VALUE BEST

Race 7 No.4: TEN BELLS

She drops back from Saturday grade back to the bush. The Scott Collings-trained mare should relish the soft conditions.

QUADDIE

Race 5: 1, 2, 5

Race 6: 12

Race 7: 1, 4

Race 8: 1,4 5

BEST EXOTIC

Race 5: Boxed trifecta - 1,2,5.

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Apprentice Emma Ly has only got three rides but should get on the board early and has a great chance in the Ian Reid Sprint.

INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1

Dynamic One is a relatively new addition to Michael Travers’ yard after starting his career in Victoria with Peter Moody. Travers tested him in metropolitan grade last time at Canterbury Park and the gelding acquitted himself fairly, finishing 2½ lengths off the winner in fifth. This is substantially easier with a perfect draw in barrier one. He’s My Warrior is a debutant that looked good when winning his most recent trial at Corowa. If he can bring that form to the races, he looks over the odds. The same goes for Villasaurus. The son of Villermont has one both of his trials and looks to be a ready-made galloper.

Bet: Dynamic One to win.

RACE 2

Miller Time is a lightly-raced daughter of The Brothers War that was only narrowly gunned down at her third start. She led the field up at Gundagai before she was only claimed over the last 50m. From another good draw here with the lightweight of 53.5kg after Emma Ly‘s claim, she will take plenty of catching. Black Tahitian has been racing consistently since moving to Mitch Beer with two placings from three starts. He only needs to hold his form to be competitive. Go Ellie Go returns from a break but raced consistently throughout last preparation.

Bet: Miller Time to win.

RACE 3

Daicos shares his name with a couple of Collingwood stars and like the football team has this season, he can win. The son of Capitalist got the cobwebs out with a first-up fourth at Corowa but has marked second up improver in the past with two placings to his name. The only hurdle will be the tricky barrier 11. Bulleyes is the main danger in his first run back from a spell. He gets the blinkers on to sharpen him right up for his return. Inveterate is no star but he has been around the money in his 10 starts to date with three placings.

Bet: Daicos to win.

RACE 4

Galbalan is yet to win first-up from a break but has placed on three occasions. He was only given a quiet time of it in his one trial but is returning from a short let up so should have plenty of residual fitness. He should be a major player from a decent draw in barrier five. Deep Shimmer was a good winner at Goulburn last time over 900m and has won over the 1000m trip before. Rain affected conditions should increase his chances. Spinosaurus found the 1100m too far time so should appreciate the step back to a shorter trip here.

Bet: Galaban to win.

RACE 5

Spitfire has been finishing midfield in Highway races at his past two starts so should find this a tad easier. Matt Dale‘s son of Pierro is a decent horse on his day and should be ready to peak now fourth-up from a break. Soft conditions and the mile are both big ticks for him. Sky Diamonds will wear the same Laurel Oak Bloodstock silks as the top pick but is trained by Keith Dryden. She should relish the step up to a mile, a distance she’s won at twice before. Dale’s second runner Nullify has to be among the chances from a good draw and fitness on his side.

Bet: Spitfire to win. Boxed trifecta – 1,2,5.

RACE 6

Princess Nefertiti doesn’t know how to run a bad race. The former Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained mare has a win and five placings from six starts with her most recent coming for new trainer Ben Brisbourne. The latest of those placings was a third here at Wagga and tipping she’s got the talent to overcome barrier 16. Twisted Quixote is also drawn awkward in barrier 13 but looks a capable type. The son of Prized Icon won his only start at this venue over 1400m earlier this month. Oneofthetwelve should get the perfect run from barrier one and can feature in the finish.

Bet: Princess Nefertiti to win.

RACE 7

Ten Bells has struggled in Saturday metropolitan grade in recent starts but looks well suited to a return to the bush. Scott Collings‘ mare won at her only previous visit to this track and trip and should be suited by the soft conditions. We will need to trust Nick Heywood to find some cover from the tricky barrier 12. Magnetic has been an excellent performer first-up in the past with two wins and two placings from five starts. Emma Ly’s claim gets him in with a more manageable 59.5kg too. Invertational also has a nomination for Canberra on Friday but can be competitive if the stable heads this way despite the tricky gate.

Bet: Ten Bells to win.

RACE 8

Offspring is the bookies second pick of Keith Dryden‘s duo with Missile Leader commanding the early money. It will be short of her best but she is a model of consistency with two wins and five placings from nine starts. Expecting her to be one of the strongest late. Wild Irish Rover was a beaten favourite last start but wasn’t disgraced when finishing among the placings. He can negate the wide draw with his early speed. Missile Leader is certainly among the chances but his great form is on synthetic tracks and the soft ground will be a question mark.

Bet: Offspring to win. Quinella 1,4,5
