INSIDE MAIL - ROSEHILL
RACE 1
Groundrush went into his debut run at Canterbury without an official barrier trial this preparation and closed off nicely to finish third behind talented fillies Lost and Kundalini over 1100m. Will take good benefit from that run and stepping up 1200m suits. Arctic Glamour was narrowly beaten in both runs last campaign including a second to Taormina at Warwick Farm on June 28. Came from just off the speed to win his trial over Facile here on Sept 19. Dark Halo is ready to make his debut after two impressive trial wins. In the latest here on Sept 19, he rolled to front after 300m and pulled away to win by nearly 10 lengths. Pajanti has been trialling well.
Bet: Groundrush to win
RACE 2
Kaizad returned from a spell with a fighting second behind boom filly Makarena over 1250m at Canterbury a fortnight ago. Stepping up to 1400m shouldn’t be a problem but he does have a wide gate to overcome again. Kirikan ran handy second at Doomben on debut before stepping up to the listed Tatt’s Members Stakes at Eagle Farm when last of six to Zoukerette. Was making ground on the inside before being held up over the last 200m in his Sunshine Coast trial on Sept 19. Zondee makes his Sydney debut. Has been good in placings in all three runs to date. Ostraka will be better for his first-up third to Makarena.
Bet: Kaizad to win
RACE 3
Only Love comes to Sydney off some solid Victorian form. Scored a big win over 2221m in a Seymour maiden before a fourth to Fire Glo Too in a BM64 at Geelong over 2433m. Blinkers go on for the first time. Nordic Prince came three-wide off the bend and kept grinding away when a half neck second to Olympic Gaze over the track and distance last start. Drops back a grade and gets a 3kg claim from Jett Stanley. Karmazome worked home from last to be third in the same race. Won’t be far away again. Classic Deel has been consistent at the provincials.
Bet: Only Love to win
RACE 4
Snowman was held up behind the leader before getting a split between runners at about the 200m and dashing late to just miss catching his stablemate Riff Rocket who had full momentum by a short neck. Steps up from 1500m to 1800m but looks like he will handle it. American Pharoah gelding Riff Rocket sat back and stormed home down the middle of the track to score at Kembla two weeks ago. Vincenzo jumped in the air at the start last time out and had to come from last when third to Our Mayanne. Was shooting for a hat-trick after two handy wins at Kembla. Hemsworth only has one real blimp this preparation when last second-up. He was game in defeat behind Our Maryanne at Canterbury last start. Not without a chance.
Bet: Snowman to win
RACE 5
Carrazana raced greenly on debut when fourth to Les Vampires and Encap at Warwick Farm on Aug 9 before storming home from last out wide to score stylishly from Unique Ambition and Gold Bullion on the Kensington two weeks later. Can go back-to-back. Chrysaor finished last on nine in the Run To The Rose first-up but he did race a little keen in the middle stages and was beaten two and a half-lengths on the line. He was Group 2 placed at this trip in the Qld Sires’ Produce. Yasuke worked through the line well enough behind Silvanito first-up. Keep safe. Iron Man was caught late by Bunker Hut when resuming in a Midway at Rosehill. Will be better for the run.
Bet: Carrazana to win
RACE 6
Sequestered showed nice ability in her first campaign winning two from six along with two placings and a fourth in the Group 2 Adrian Knox Stakes. Readied for her return to racing with a nice trial win from stablemate Zardozi at Hawkesbury on Sept 11. Allasandra won three in-a-row before a close second to Principessa on the Kensington to end her last campaign. Not pressured in her Rosehill trial on Sept 5. Smart Little Miss is racing with great consistency and another win isn’t far away. Should have finished closer than fifth behind Petulant here two star s back then was third to Strombus and Convincebility on the Kensington. Fall For Cindy has place claims first-up.
Bet: Sequestered to win
RACE 7
Untouchable Legend has only won the one race from six starts but she has so much more talent than that. She came from last on the fence and stormed home down the outside to win at impressively at Canterbury back on Aug 16. Was again near last and held up for run until the 100m when a three length eighth to Way To The Stars at Canterbury two weeks ago. Should have finished much closer. Greece resumed from a 25-week break with a third to Sweet Baby Boom at Canterbury two weeks ago and will take plenty of benefit from the run. Drawn well. Shipshape was beaten a nose when shooting for a hat-trick last campaign after wins and Hawkesbury and Wyong. Never off the bit on both her recent trials. Caballus is a classy colt who was below his best when down the track behind Tom Kitten in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes. Freshened has trialled strongly. Wide draw the concern.
Bet: Untouchable Legend to win
