It’s a group of horses that boasts nine individual Group 1 winners, with 15 majors between them, and more than $37m in prizemoney.

If they were to clash in a race, it would be one of the highlights of the spring carnival but instead they will contest a 1000m heat on the Randwick course proper at 9am on Tuesday.

The trial field includes the Chris Waller-trained Fangirl, winner of more than $8.4m prizemoney and one of the favourites for the Group 1 $5m King Charles III Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 19.

Celestial Legend, winner of the Doncaster Mile and Randwick Guineas earlier this year, continues his preparation for a King Charles showdown with Fangirl when he takes his place in the trial field.

Their opponents include Amelia’s Jewel and Zougotcha with both also possible starters in the feature weight-for-age mile race on Everest Day.

Also contesting the all-star trial are The Everest hopefuls Private Eye, Joliestar, Sunshine In Paris and Lady Of Camelot.

Private Eye, who has won more than $10.6m, was confirmed as an Everest runner on Sunday after being selected by slot-holders Max Whitby, Neil Werrett and Col Madden.

Brilliant mares Joliestar (slot-holder Chris Waller Racing) and Sunshine In Paris (Fairway Thoroughbreds), and Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot (Newgate and GPI Racing) were already in The Everest field.

Lady Laguna, winner of the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes earlier this year, completes the outstanding line-up for the most anticipated barrier trial in Sydney for years.
