Saturday late mail, tips, analysis for All Aged Stakes, Quokka Day
It’s another massive day of racing around Australia on Saturday, headlined by two Group 1s in Sydney and the $5m The Quokka in Perth — which is Western Australia’s richest race.

Group 1 racing continues on Saturday with a double header at Randwick — the All Aged Stakes and the Champagne Stakes.
The weekend has kicked off on a sombre note with the death of champion racehorse and stallion, Lonhro, who was an absolute superstar of the turf.
His win in the 2004 Australian Cup is the stuff of legend, and I vividly recall watching it live on TV in the front bar of the Grand Tasman Hotel in Port Lincoln.
Over in the West on Saturday, the $5 million The Quokka takes centre stage with glamour mare Amelia’s Jewel looking to avenge her narrow defeat at the hands of Overpass in last year’s race.
Overpass is looking to go back-to-back and he’s the one they have to beat as he’ll make his own luck on speed and skip away at the top of the straight.

Amelia’s Jewel and Bella Nipotina have drawn wide and will either be spotting him a decent head start, or working hard out wide closer to the pace.
King Of Sparta, who has drawn well, is a threat while Oscar’s Fortune is the best of the locals drawn low with William Pike aboard.
In the All Aged Stakes, Australian Guineas winner Southport Tycoon will run a big race from a nice barrier while Sires’ winner Manaal looks very hard to beat stepping up to a mile in the Champagne Stakes.
Both horses will be ridden by the in-form Jamie Kah, who flew to Sydney twice to partner Southport Tycoon in his recent barrier trials.
