Caulfield Cup-winning jockey Vlad Duric has been discharged from hospital after miraculously escaping serious injury in a scary racing incident in which a horse fell on him.
Duric was riding on the Sunshine Coast on Friday night when The Player finished third but clipped heels after the finishing post.

The horse fell on Duric who was briefly trapped before chief steward on the night James Williamson and a swab collection officer ran to his aid, wrestling the horse off the fallen jockey.
Duric was taken to hospital on Friday night but was released on Saturday.

“I’m very lucky, I’ve just got some broken ribs and a sore head and neck and I’ll be back riding once all is healed up,” Duric said.
Sadly, The Player was euthanised after the incident.
Duric won the 2007 Caulfield Cup on Master O’Reilly and has been riding with success in Queensland since returning from riding in Singapore.
