1. MAT RYAN 7
Had little to do early on and can’t be faulted for Kuwait’s opener, but pulled off two crucial late saves when it was 3-1.
2. IVAN FRANJIC 7.5
Didn’t look affected by a lack of game-time, providing crucial overlap from right-back and playing a key role in the first three goals.
20. TRENT SAINSBURY 6
Hardly tested defensively, but looked more comfortable as the game went on and stayed composed with and without the ball.
6. MATTHEW SPIRANOVIC 7
Marshalled the defence well and drove the ball into midfield to create extra numbers when Kuwait was sitting deep.
13. AZIZ BEHICH 6
Had most of the ball in the attacking third despite playing left-back and was solid. Didn’t look fazed in just high eighth game.
15. MILE JEDINAK 7.5
Played the lone holding midfielder’s role to perfection, protecting the stoppers while his distribution and weight of passing was crucial.
21. MASSIMO LUONGO 8
A nervy start but once he settled he helped turn the tide, setting up the first and scoring the second.
14 JAMES TROISI 7
A late goal capped off a top performance from the former Victory attacker. Not everything went for him but he persisted.
10. ROBBIE KRUSE 6.5
Still looks rusty but came into the game in the second half, winning the penalty and showing flashes of class.
7. MATHEW LECKIE 7
Like Kruse got better as the game wore on and unlucky not to score. In the end he was causing havoc.
4. TIM CAHILL 7
Played 65 minutes before making way for Tomi Juric. Made a nuisance of himself and scored the crucial equaliser.
9. TOMI JURIC 5.5
Didn’t have much time to make an impact but the striker got heavily involved in his short cameo.
16. NATHAN BURNS 6.5
Two gilt-edged chances to score despite playing just 20 minutes. His confidence is ridiculous right now.
23. MARK BRESCIANO 5
Came on with six minutes of normal time to go so impossible to put his stamp on the game.
