REACTION: Hear from all the key player

The players, a bit groggy and deprived of sleep, received a huge cheer as they were introduced.

“Like the whole campaign - one in all in,” skipper Mile Jedinak said of the all-night celebrations.

“Being in Australia and having everyone there last night, and having everyone here today, is amazing.”

Not surprisingly, it was Tim Cahill who received the biggest cheer, though the stars of the future, including Massimo Luongo and Trent Sainsbury, were heartily applauded.

It’s been Cahill who has been the most recognised Socceroo during the tournament, but the historic extra time triumph over South Korea will certainly boost the profiles of the rest of the players.

The Socceroos hung around to sign autographs and take photos before departing with the Asian Cup trophy.
