MAKING sense of the biggest football party to hit these shores need not be difficult when you have the irrepressible Mark Bosnich to translate it for you.
“This is the biggest football tournament ever played in this country,” the former Manchester United, Chelsea and Socceroos goalkeeper said.
“It will be one of the points we look back on in 20 years’ time and say, ‘wow, the Asian Cup of 2015 was massive’.”
The Socceroos will be determined to capture their first Asian Cup crown.
Bosnich, a spearhead of the Fox Sports commentary team, will share the analysis with John Aloisi, Ned Zelic and Robbie Slater.
Here are his highlights of the group stage.
Australia v Kuwait
January 9, Melbourne Rectangular Stadium
Bozza says: The first game of any tournament is always a blockbuster.
Iraq v Japan
January 16, Brisbane Stadium
Bozza says: A great match between two past tournament winners. I rate Iraq as a real smoky.
Australia v South Korea
January 17, Brisbane Stadium
Bozza says: This is a fight to decide the pool, and to decide who will miss Japan in the semis.
Uzbekistan v Saudi Arabia
January 18, Melbourne Rectangular Stadium
Bozza says: This will go a long way to deciding who makes the quarters.
Iran v UAE
January 19, Brisbane Stadium, 7pm
Bozza says: Iran can win the whole thing and I reckon the UAE is another smoky.
