This summer, it’s time to flex – but not in the gym or at the beach.
For the first time in SuperCoach Classic, a new Flex position has been added to SuperCoach BBL, bringing a whole new layer of strategy to the game.
What is the Flex position?
The Flex position acts as a utility, counting your backup player’s score if another in your starting line-up underperforms, gets injured or is a late out.
Here’s how it works.
Included in your starting team: The Flex position counts toward your team’s total points each round.
Best 11 scorers: You select 12 players, and the top 11 scores contribute to your round total, similar to the bye scoring in SuperCoach NRL and AFL.
Eligible as Captain or Vice-Captain: You can assign your Flex player a leadership role, giving you additional strategic options.
Who can play in the Flex spot? Your Flex player can come from any position – Batsman (BAT), Wicketkeeper/Batsman (WKP/BAT), Batsman/Bowler (BAT/BWL), or Bowler (BWL) – and can be swapped onto the bench within the corresponding role. For example, a BAT/BWL player in the Flex spot can swap with either a BAT or BWL on your bench.

With the Flex addition, every SuperCoach BBL squad now has 17 players, one more than previous seasons.
To accommodate this, rookie starting prices have been adjusted, dropping from $42k to $39k (or $62k to $58k) to fit within the $2 million budget.
There have also been minor price adjustments to help fit the extra player into the SuperCoach cap.
The Flex position offers strategic benefits and provides a “second chance” in case of a player’s zero-score game or mid-game injuries.
It also serves as valuable insurance for new players to SuperCoach, ensuring no single game mistake defines your round.
More information about how the best 11 scoring and Flex position works can be found in the SuperCoach BBL Help section on the app / website.
