The BBL’s biggest star or its best player of the past two seasons?
When it came to picking the No.1 in our BBL top 50 ahead of BBL13, Glenn Maxwell and Matt Short were proving impossible to split.
As if we needed a reminder of Maxwell’s freakish ability, his double hundred against Afghanistan and record-breaking century against Netherlands provided exactly that.
As good as Short has been for the Strikers, he had to settle for No.2.
The BBL has lost some star power with the withdrawal of Harry Brook and Rashid Khan, but there remains a bevy of T20 talent in this summer’s tournament.
From overseas recruits such as Jamie Overton, Joe Clarke and Colin Munro to emerging stars like Ollie Davies, the BBL is sure to deliver plenty of fireworks.
Test players — besides David Warner — were not considered due to only being available for 1-2 matches.
Warner should feature prominently in the back half of the tournament if his SCG Test farewell eventuates.
Here’s how we ranked the competition’s 50 best players who will have the biggest say in BBL13.
