Not surprisingly, barely a batsman rated over 5 as India levelled the series at the MCG. And the bowlers can’t be absolved of blame either in a hard-hitting critique.

India’s remarkable bounceback is complete, laying bare Australia’s flaws and reliance on its big guns to do the heavy lifting following a monstrous eight-wicket victory to level the series at 1-1.

The blame of Australia’s defeat lies squarely on at the feet of its batsmen, with another feeble performance from the top six giving the bowlers little chance of pushing for victory.

But even there, the much-vaunted bowling attack couldn’t rattle an Indian batting lineup they rolled for 36 little more than a week before.
