Sierra Leone men’s doubles squash players Ernest Jombla and Yusif Mansaray have failed to show for matches including one this morning against India.

Two athletes from Uganda and one from Rwanda are also believed to be unaccounted for.

They join eight Cameroonians — five boxers and three weightlifters — who have disappeared from the athletes village in recent days.

Games officials say the athletes have not yet officially breached their visas, which do not expire until May 15.

The rest of the Cameroon team and its officials have now flown home after the mass desertion, which amounts to a third of their team.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton had earlier today vowed to track down missing athletes and deport them as soon as possible.
