BRONCOS skipper Darius Boyd is set to be given the green light to return from a broken thumb for tomorrow night’s clash against Parramatta at ANZ Stadium.
NRMA Insurance promo Boyd is hopeful of playing and will officially take his place at fullback against the Eels if he comes through today’s captain’s run at Red Hill unscathed. Another Bronco facing a fitness test is utility Kodi Nikorima, who suffered a minor groin strain at training on Tuesday after his fine performance filling in for Boyd against the Bulldogs last Thursday night. Should Nikorima train strongly, coach Wayne Bennett will must decide between him and Benji Marshall for the utility role on Brisbane’s interchange bench. Boyd hasn’t played since breaking his thumb in Origin II five weeks ago but has had pins removed from his hand and is determined to return against the Eels.
