Tim Tszyu’s big secret is out — the Australian is officially a taken man.

The world champ will walk to the ring at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday (AEDT) as an engaged man for the first time.

The 29-year-old has confirmed he is engaged with long-term partner Alexandra Constantine.

Tszyu has confessed the couple kept their exciting news secret for months and showed no mention of it in their social media posts.

As first reported by News Corp, Tszyu popped the question on Christmas Eve during a casual walk with their French Bulldog Pablo.

According to the report, the deeply private couple only told a handful of people.

Rumours about the couple’s engagement emerged this week following comments from the fighter’s mum Natalia.

“Let’s just say when I did it, I was very, very nervous - more nervous than any fight,” Tszyu said.

Tszyu has repeatedly described Constantine as his rock and she has been there from the beginning.

The couple met in 2016 when Constantine started taking boxing lessons at Tszyu’s gym in Rockdale, Sydney.

Tszyu said it was love at first sight.

“I normally don’t hold pads for people, so she was lucky she got pads that day,” Tszyu said in 2021.

“Her smile was what actually made me fall in love with her.”

Constantine added: “I went to pay after class and he wouldn’t let me.

“We began talking over the next few weeks, although I never went back for a class.

“We don’t train together, my friends are surprised that he’s not my personal trainer.”

Constantine told News Corp this week there are misconceptions about how outsiders view their relationship.

“A lot of people say we’re really different, but mentally I think we’re very similar,” she said.

“I’m mentally very strong, and I try to guide all my friends, and he guides his friends as well. When some of our friends are down, we’re like, ‘Think about what you’re trying to achieve and you’re going to get there, you’ve just got to believe in yourself’.

“And we definitely don’t associate ourselves with people who are lazy or not like-minded, we always want to be around positive people, people that are driven and who keep wanting to move forward.

“We’re both extremely driven, with Tim, when there is pressure he is always calm.

“The things we talk about at home are like, ‘What are your values and beliefs?’ And we always stay true to that.

“If you remain true to your values, then nothing will get in your way.”

Tszyu has never been more driven in his life ahead of his blockbuster fight with Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas where the WBO and WBC super welterweight titles are up for grabs.

After his original opponent Keith Thurman pulled out with injury, Tszyu didn’t hesitate to take on a tricky task of fight Fundora on just 12 days’ notice.

Fundora is a lanky 197cm boxer whose only loss was to Brian Mendoza, the man Tszyu beat in his most recent fight last year.

A statement victory against Fundora would likely crack open the lucrative US boxing market for Tszyu, putting him in a position to become the highest earning fighter in the history of Australian boxing.

Money and fame hasn’t changed the couple so far and it doesn’t look like that will change.

Sydney-born finance graduate Constantine is fluent in three languages — English, French and Macedonian — and went to school at SCEGGS Darlinghurst in Sydney before she studied finance at the University of Technology Sydney.

After delving into a career in property law, Constantine has worked within the finance industry and previously worked for NSW Transport as an Assistant Property Asset Manager.

Constantine has attended all but one of Tszyu’s professional fights.

Tszyu’s mum Natalia this week predicted the couple will one day have children.

“I’m telling you, I won’t be surprised if one day you are talking to me and I’m going to be a grandmother and my grandsons are going to be fighting,” she told Fox Sports.

‘Honestly, I feel it.”
