SOUTH Australia’s first and only professional mixed martial arts (MMA) competition will be back again for its fifth show next year.

Last Saturday night MMA Downunder 4 hit Adelaide Arena full-force with 12 bouts of caged action in front of more than 2000 spectators.

In the main event kickboxing superstar Paul Slowinski made his debut inside the octagon, beating New Zealand’s Leamy Tato via TKO in the first round.

Although the heavyweights were the main attraction, it was the featherweight brawlers who stole the show.

A fast-paced back-and-forth scrap between Gian Carlo Embradora and Terry Balboa had fans on their feet for 15 minutes.

In the end the judges awarded a unanimous points victory to Carlo Embradora 30-27, 30-27, 30-27.

Each fight was streamed live online in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Poland and the United States.

Slowinski — who has already agreed to fight at MMA Downunder 5 — flew out to his home country, Poland, after his win.

He will take on longtime rival Marcin Rozalski at KSW 24: Clash of the Giants Saturday night.

MMA Downunder will return to Adelaide Arena on March 15 next year.
