THE head-spinning success of Sunday’s world title fight in Brisbane has stirred Jeff Horn’s delighted promoter Dean Lonergan to spruik: “If Manny wants to go again, hands up.”

Manny Pacquiao, the bloodied and vanquished champion, insisted on a Brisbane rematch as a clause in his contract for the fight.

And after the fight Pacquiao said he would “absolutely” return to Brisbane for a rematch.

“We have a clause for a rematch. No problem.”

It was a multi-million insurance policy on exactly the boilover that unfolded in such dramatic fashion at Suncorp Stadium for the biggest crowd to watch a boxing event in Queensland’s history.

Lonergan reiterated in the hour after Sunday’s pulsating points decision to Horn that Pacquaio had a rematch clause guaranteeing him a return fight.

The shadow date is for November.

“Unbelievable ... to fight that well against Manny, a true legend of the sport, is unbelievable,” Lonergran said.

“To have that Brisbane crowd, that noise behind him ... that just made a difference.

“Look, there would be a lot of logistics, a lot of discussions to have before there is a Horn-Pacquaio II but I’ll confirm again there is a rematch clause for Brisbane in Manny’s contract.

“If Manny wants to go again, hands up.”

Horn’s world has been transformed by 12 big-hearted rounds where his heart and punching to step forward against Pacquaio has made him the sport’s newest drawcard.

“You cannot underestimate what this has done for Jeff’s profile and appeal worldwide, his future,” Lonergan said.
