Bio: A schoolteacher by profession, Horn was born in Brisbane. He studied at Griffith University and met his wife Joanna at MacGregor State High School. He won his first Australian title in 2009 and made the quarter-finals of the 2012 London Olympic Games before turning professional the following year. He became a father on December 30, less than three weeks after retaining his WBO welterweight title against Gary Corcoran.
Career highlights: Made the boxing world stand-up and take notice when he defeated Filipino superstar and 11-times world champion Manny Pacquiao before a packed Suncorp Stadium in July last year. The unanimous decision win was not without controversy with many media judges scoring the fight in the Filipino’s favour. The controversy resulted in the WBO in re-scoring the fight with Horn winning seven of the 12 rounds. He then backed it up by defending his WBO welterweight crown against Brit Gary Corcoran with a TKO in the 11th round.
