ANTHONY Mundine doesn't care that he stands to lose $600,000 of his own money on Wednesday night's fight against American boxing legend Sugar Shane Mosley.

Such is his desperation to keep the dream alive for a follow-up, big-time fight in the US.

Sluggish ticket sales and Main Event TV purchases have left Mundine's Boxa Promotions facing the real prospect of blowing more than $500,000 on the bout.

"I don't care about the money," Mundine told The Sunday Telegraph.

"I could have fought Danny Green and made a few million easy.

"Honestly, I couldn't give a shit if there were two people there, bro. I swear.

"I'm there to do a job and chase my dream."

Getting Mosley back to Australia after the aborted first fight has cost the Mundine

camp $1.1 million. At this stage, tickets and TV sales look like coming in at $500,000 unless there is a last -minute surge.

"This is about respect and it's about my legacy," Mundine said.

"I played in three grand finals and State of Origin in rugby league. Now I want the best of the best in American boxing.

"That's what this fight can bring. It's everything -do or die.

"Whoever is there on Wednesday night will get their money's worth."

Mundine's long-time agent Khoder Nasser says they were always aware this fight would be a tough investment.

For all he has achieved in boxing as a multiple world champion, Mundine has polarised sporting fans with his often outrageous comments.

"Some people said we were mad to even contemplate this fight because of the risk involved," Nasser said. "It's a very expensive exercise when you're dealing

with the elite in general, but in boxing it goes to another level.

"Dealing with Golden Boy and Shane Mosely is dealing with the elite in boxing.

"The fighters expect to be treated well.

"They travel business class with a physio, doctors, nutritionists, sparring partners, a cut man, trainers and managers etc."

Still, Nasser said it was never an option not to pursue the Mosley fight.

"Anthony was just devastated when he went home a few weeks ago," Nasser said. "When you want something as badly as he does, you just do it.

"There is a lot more than money at stake - he's risking everything.

"If he wins he'll be in a position to pursue the big American names - Alvarez, Cotto and Mayweather.

"The age factor (38) doesn't matter. The guy he eventually wants to

fight (Mayweather) is about the same anyway (36)."

The fight at All Phones arena will be Mundine's last if he fails to beat the American superstar.

TAB Sportsbet has Mosley a raging hot favourite at $1.65 to win the fight, with Mundine at $2.25.

The cocky American is not expecting too many problems in taking care of Mundine.

"This fight has just got to keep me in shape, keep me going, keep me fighting," Mosely said.
