Australian swimming great Kyle Chalmers is set to become a dad.
The Olympic and world swimming champion announced the news with Norwegian fiancee Ingeborg Loyning that they were pregnant with their first child.
“We can’t wait to welcome our little Norwegian princess into the world later this year,” she posted on Instagram along with an image of the pair holding the baby scans.
The news was immediately greeted with supportive messages from his Australian Dolphins swimming teammates.
“Omg congratulations!!!,” wrote Shayna Jack.

Olympic gold medallist Ariarne Titmus also added her message of support: “So happy for you guys xx”
The baby news continues a massive 12 months for the pair after they announced their engagement last June ahead of the Paris Olympic Games.
Chalmers was one of Australia’s stars of Paris, shocking the world to win a silver medal in the 100m freestyle to make it a third straight podium in the blue riband event he won in 2016.
The Australian sprinter has been at the forefront of the swim team for almost a decade and has shown no signs of retirement, recently moving back to Adelaide to resume his swimming career closer to home after spending the final months of his preparations for Paris living on the Sunshine Coast.
Chalmers travelled to Norway with Loyning following the Paris Games, meeting her family for the first time and embracing the life in Europe as he celebrated his Olympic success.
