An Australian Rules Football club in North Brisbane has been left stunned after a tree mysteriously appeared in the centre of its oval.

The six-foot tree had been neatly planted overnight on Wednesday, August 28 at Sandgate Hawks Australian Football Club and was discovered by members Thursday morning.

The club branched out to fans with post on the their Facebook page which read:

“We know the last few years have seen an amazing amount of GROWTH at our club, however a tree growing out of the center circle isn’t exactly the growth we were chasing.

“Thanks to whoever planted this overnight, certainly not what our amazing groundsmen expected to see this morning!”

“Tall Timber in the midfield,” one user commented, as another said “I saw tree blokes running away from the club.”

Despite gaining over 300 hundred reactions, the post has, to date, failed to uncover any shady characters and club officials remained stumped.
