NBA superstar James Harden frisked, questioned by police in Paris

NBA superstar James Harden has been caught up in dramatic scenes at Paris fashion week with a video which has gone viral.

NBA superstar James Harden has been frisked by police in France, but his friends were taken into arrested for transporting narcotics according to French reports.

Harden was stopped by French police and searched but the Nets star was let go and never taken into custody, while three others including rapper Lil Baby were reportedly placed under arrest.

Harden – who has been hanging around Paris with Lil Baby and Kanye West for the annual Fashion week – was on Avenue Montaigne when a nearby car was stopped after Parisian police smelled cannabis.

At 4:50pm at 33 avenue Montaigne, local cops checked the three passengers of a vehicle that smelled strongly of cannabis.

They found 20 grams of cannabis in the glove compartment, according to Le Parisien.

Harden tried to intervene and was also checked, which can be seen in a video that circulated on social media.

But since the Nets star hadn’t been in the vehicle and didn’t have any drugs, he was left free on the spot while the others were taken into custody.

Harden – who pulled out of Team USA’s Olympic bid due to his hamstring injury – was on hand as the rapper was loaded into a van.

Video of both incidents surfaced on Twitter.

Harden can be seen in the first being patted down, holding his phone in his right hand as his pockets are searched.

The Brooklyn star can be heard telling police “It’s OK. I don’t understand.”

Some on social media could understand either about the fuss made over cannabis.

The video featuring Harden had nearly 2 million views as of writing.

It’s been an eventful Fashion Week for Harden.

Named to the board of Saks Fifth Avenue last month, the Brooklyn star has been attending shows with the two aforementioned rappers, and turned up at the same fashion house shows as A-list movie stars like Sophie Turner, Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence and Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain.

Right after the Nets’ tough Game 7 loss to Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, Harden had initially committed to playing for Team USA in the Olympics.

But with a Grade 2 hamstring strain having essentially sidelined him for the first four games of that second-round series and severely limited him in the final three, the All-Star guard reversed course and pulled out of Team USA.

So with Team USA camp opening this week in Las Vegas, Harden jetted across the Atlantic to France.

Harden and Lil Baby – on whose album “Voice of Heroes” Harden serves as an executive producer, and who regularly attended Nets games at Barclays Center – were welcomed by a crush of paparazzi that yelled both of their names and caught them hilariously off guard.
