WNBA star Candace Parker has revealed she was married in secret two years ago.
Parker announced on Wednesday AEDT) her wife Anna Petrakova is pregnant with their first child.
The exciting double-whammy was a bombshell for fans to take in with Parker the top trending topic in the United States after the 35-year-old announced the big news on Wednesday morning.
The popular basketball TV commentator and two-time Olympic gold medal-winner, has revealed she married Petrakova in a private ceremony with friends and family in 2019.
She broke the news in an Instagram post that showed the couple together on their wedding day and together again recently with Petrakova showing off a baby bump.
“We’ve always dreamed of growing our family…. it’s surreal that we now have a baby on the way,” Parker captioned the post.
Parker has a 12-year-old daughter, Lailaa, from a previous marriage with former Duke product and NBA player Shelden Williams.
“Lailaa is pumped to be a big sister!” Parker wrote.
“Happy Anniversary! 2 years ago, I got to marry my best friend in front of our close family and friends.
“My heart could have exploded. I cried like a baby…. To know me or you is to know our love. This journey hasn’t been easy. I am proud of us and what we have built and who we have grown to become both individually and together.
“Thank you for always loving Lailaa as your own.”
The Chicago Sky captain announced the news on the couple’s second wedding anniversary and debuted Petrakova’s baby bump in various photos.
The expectant mum held her belly in one photo, with Parker’s daughter cradling Petrakova’s bump in another snap.
Parker also shared photos from the couple’s wedding, which appeared to have taken place at a beach location.
Petrakova, 37, is a former pro basketball player. She was part of the Russia women’s national team that placed fourth at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
