The mum of Australia’s newest NBA star Dyson Daniels now knows she drove America wild during the 2022 NBA Draft.
Daniels enjoyed one of the biggest nights of his life as he was snapped up by the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 8 overall pick during the glamorous event at the Barclays Centre in New York last week.
It was an even bigger night for Daniels’ 54-year-old mum who stole the show with a dress that drove America wild.

Dyson’s mother, Brigitta Kool-Daniels, has now revealed how she managed to go viral on social media, admitting she used a team to help her become the dazzling figure that dropped jaws as her son’s name was read out.
“Dyson Daniels is going to be a trending topic tonight,” reporter Troy Machir tweeted, including a photo of Daniels and his mum, who was dressed in a white slit dress and open-toe heels.
His suspicions were proven to be correct as fans flocked to social media to comment on Daniels’ mum and her now-famous white threads.
Throughout the night Daniels’ mum also shared a number of photos on Instagram — and she has continued to share pictures from behind the scenes as the family recovers from its big night.
One post showed Kool-Daniels getting ready with her make-up and hair team.
She captioned the photos: “Mayhem over a little white dress.”
She wrote in another post: “Love and Appreciation for the people and team that made our draft experience a lifetime memory.”
Kool-Daniels is married to Dyson’s dad Ricky Daniels, who played semi-professional basketball in Australia with the Bendigo Braves after a successful college stint with North Carolina State University.
Dyson Daniels previously played with the NBA G League Ignite.
The Australian product made his debut for the Australian senior national team at FIBA Asia Cup qualification in 2021.
Daniels’ mum wasn’t the only parent fans were obsessed with on NBA Draft night. Chet Holmgren was taken by Oklahoma City Thunder with the No. 2 pick but viewers were immediately drawn to his dad.
Many thought he had a striking resemblance to movie villains such as Wolf “The Dentist” Stansson from “D2: The Mighty Ducks”.
“Chet Holmgren’s dad looks like an early 1990s movie villain. Ponytail, blazer over black T-shirt,” one user quipped.
Another wrote: “Chet Holmgren’s dad looks like the villain from kindergarten cop.”
