Coronavirus cases continue to explode across America with over 74,000 new cases being recorded in the latest announcement.
The latest number in Los Angeles was just under 5,000 daily cases, despite the alarmingly high number of cases of the deadly virus being recorded, fans flooded the streets of Los Angeles.
Local officials issued warnings to Los Angeles locals with deputy mayor Jeff Gorell asking people to remain isolated.
“Dear LA: Please do not revel in groups. Stay isolated, alone, at home. If you’re not sure what we mean, ask a Clippers fan. Please celebrate the way Clippers fans have learned to celebrate over the years. Thank you and again Congratulations,” Gorell wrote.
Fans did not heed that advice as they hit the streets and set off the same amount of fireworks you’d see on New Years.

The Los Angeles police department was out in force attempting to limit the damage being done by revellers as they urged all to stay home.
“We’re seeing some large, at times unruly crowds, taking over intersections in various parts of the city. We urge all Angelenos to stay home if possible. If you must be out, please exercise caution. Should you encounter a large crowd, do not attempt to drive through it,” an official statement read.
Scenes quickly descended into chaos when a truck attempting to drive through the streets of Los Angeles was overrun and looted by the packed crowds.

The skies over the city were lit up with fireworks as the streets became packed from bumper to bumper with cars unable to move through the crowds.
A wall of police marched towards the crowds in the hopes of getting the large number of people to disperse. With one video showing an individual being knocked to the ground by officers.

The @LAPDHQ is exceptionally good at handling civil unrest
Iâve never experienced better deescalation tactics at riots/protests than in this city
Phenomenal policing.

After the Lakers won the NBA title and the streets of LA descended into chaos, nearly 80 people were arrested with eight officers being left injured in the mayhem.
“What started out as a largely peaceful celebration of the Los Angeles Lakers NBA championship in downtown Los Angeles, turned into confrontational, violent and destructive behaviour late last night,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.
It said that some 1000 revellers gathered around the Staples Centre, the Lakers’ home arena, after the team dominated the Miami Heat 106-93 to win a record-equalling championship.
“Unruly individuals mixed within the crowd began throwing glass bottles, rocks, and other projectiles at officers,” the statement said.
“That is when an unlawful assembly was declared, and only a limited number of people complied and began to disperse.
“A larger portion of the group broke off and began vandalising businesses while continuing to engage in violent behaviour, some aimed at responding officers.”
