WESTERN Bulldogs premiership ruckman Jordan Roughead has avoided a serious knee injury in the club’s preseason loss to Melbourne on Saturday.
Instead, the gun tall is believed to have hurt his hamstring as he landed awkwardly in a first-term ruck contest.
The injury is not serious but Roughead, 26, will be under a cloud for the club’s first four matches of the season against Collingwood, Sydney, Fremantle and North Melbourne.

He may be sidelined for more than six weeks. Tom Campbell would replace him during Roughead’s time out.
It is a major relief for the Dogs amid fears Roughead may have sustained a season-ending knee injury as he fell to the ground and immediately clutched his right leg.
In his absence, first-year ruckman Tim English could make his Dogs debut in next Thursday’s preseason game against Brisbane.
