West Coast swingman Jeremy McGovern in doubt for Saturday’s clash with Geelong

JEREMY McGovern’s status for West Coast’s trip to Geelong this week appears unclear after the key defender missed training on Tuesday.

JEREMY McGovern’s status for West Coast’s trip to Geelong this week appears unclear after the key defender missed training on Tuesday.

McGovern appeared sore at times during Sunday’s 62-point win over Collingwood after an early ankle knock, though he played out the game.

But the 24-year-old was the sole key absentee from the club’s training session at Subiaco Oval on Tuesday morning, and with a six-day break between games, he could face a test to prove his fitness for the Cats clash.

In better news for the Eagles, Elliot Yeo returned to the track for the light session after missing the win over the Pies with tonsillitis.

Forward Jack Darling also took part in full training after straining his back late in Sunday’s victory.

Xavier Ellis looms as a potential inclusion for the Simonds Stadium clash after returning from an Achilles injury in the weekend’s WAFL action.

Ellis, who has not played at the top level since Round 1, had 24 touches for East Perth.
