Star Richmond recruit Tom Lynch has had an operation on his knee the club believes will help fast-track his return.
Lynch underwent surgery to repair his PCL in July and was initially expected to be on light duties until January.
But after consultation with his surgeon on Thursday, Lynch has had a minor procedure done that will improve the range of motion in his knee and remove scarring.

The Tigers expect the operation to accelerate his rehabilitation and allow him to start running in 7-10 days.
“There was no issue with Tom’s injury, however we were given an option to progress his rehab, which will allow him to start running slightly sooner than expected,” Richmond football boss Neil Balme said.

“We expect Tom will be running in the next week to ten days, and he will ramp up his training loads again after the Christmas break.”
Lynch started training with his new teammates at Punt Rd on Monday, returning with the Tigers’ first-to-fourth-year players.
The star forward, who joined Richmond from Gold Coast via free agency, is expected to be fit for Round 1 next year.
