JACK Riewoldt‘s day came to a premature end after being whacked by Jake Carlisle during the first quarter between Richmond and St Kilda at the MCG.

Riewoldt, looking dazed and wobbly, was helped from the field and taken away for medical attention before being officially ruled out midway through the second term.

It’s Riewoldt’s second big hit in as many weeks after he came off second best against Eagles defender Liam Duggan last weekend which resulted in him coughing up blood.

Carlisle was reported and will face the music with the MRP.

“This is a problem now,” says Paul Roos.

“We are not doctors up here but if Riewoldt doesn’t play for the rest of the game this is a significant impediment to the Richmond footy club.

“This is the rule that they need to change.

“This is the concussion sub. We are in the first five minutes of the game.”

Things went from bad to worse for the Tigers with Bachar Houli twice returning to the rooms to the rooms with an apparent groin injury.
