Port Adelaide preliminary final against Richmond tickets go on sale Monday morning

Port Adelaide’s nearly 30,000 eligible members will be vying for tickets to the 27,000 capacity preliminary final on Friday night – with tickets going on sale 9am Monday morning.

The hottest ticket in town goes on sale Monday at 9am for Port Adelaide members marching towards premiership glory in the preliminary final.

The minor premiers take on Richmond at Adelaide Oval on Friday night and the club’s 29,155 eligible members will be vying for tickets to the 27,000 capacity game.

Members have been divided into two groups, with the first able to book tickets online from 9am and lower tier members from 11am, then – if any are left – the general public from 2pm.

The “first-in, best dressed” system also applies to Richmond club members but due to travel restrictions, the Oval is expected to be a sea of teal, black, white and silver.

Diehard supporter Jesse Catalano will be playing a gig at the time but says his dad Nick, mum Sonia and wife Lauri would be there, with the family’s usual fourth ticket a toss-up between sister Nadia and daughter Indiana, 6.

“We are confident the Power can go all the way, in a year that has been the hardest of all – hubs, Melbourne clubs travelling and not playing most of their games at the MCG, and all the rest of it will make this the best premiership of all,” Mr Catalano said.

“Our whole family are supporters and are so proud of what the club has achieved this year, and what they are going on to achieve.”

In an extraordinary season which went from games with no fans, to no matches, to hubs, minor premiers Port Adelaide cemented a winning culture – but fans will still have to abide by COVID-safe rules.

There will be no march from the Mall, no autographs from players and no post-match function.

The car park opens at 4.30pm and gates at 5.30pm for the first bounce at 7.20pm.
