BRENT Harvey says he ‘100 per cent disagrees’ with Brad Scott’s decision to pull the pin on his Kangaroos career after 432 games.

Harvey played his final game for North Melbourne against Adelaide on Saturday night after the club announced on the eve of the finals that he, Drew Petrie, Michael Firrito and Nick Dal Santo would not be offered contracts for next year.

The AFL games record-holder says disappointment best describes his reaction when Kangaroos coach Brad Scott told him the news.

“I understand the direction he wants to take 100 per cent, but I don’t agree with it because I think my footy’s still got so much to offer,” he said.

Harvey did not talk to journalists after the loss to Adelaide but has given a paid interview with The Footy Show.

In an excerpt shown on Channel 9 on Monday night, Harvey did not reveal if he would play on at another club next year but said he had plenty of footy left in him.

“I think my football says yes, absolutely, you can go around again,” he said.

“Brad said that to me. He said, ‘You’re in our top handful of players. Will you be next year? Yes, you probably will be next year as well’.

“‘But looking forward to (2018), 19, 20 — if we do that, we’re not blooding our young guys’.

“Honestly, I understand his whole his vision but I don’t agree with it because I feel like my footy says 100 per cent you could play again next year.”

Dal Santo also believes he can play on and has been linked to Collingwood while West Coast could extend Drew Petrie’s career.
