Trade TV: Darcy Moore, Lachie Neale, Jesse Hogan futures on the agenda
DARCY Moore still hasn’t committed to Collingwood, but will Sydney be his new home? Plus how Jesse Hogan could end up at Fremantle and what Geelong should give up for Gary Rohan.
Hawthorn
Don't miss out on the headlines from Hawthorn. Followed categories will be added to My News.
HAWTHORN could make a “left-field” play for Magpie Darcy Moore.
The Collingwood swingman has put contract talks on hold and has been linked with Sydney, which will have money to spend if Dan Hannebery moves to St Kilda.

But the Hawks could make a trademark late move to regenerate their key-position stocks.
“I wonder whether Hawthorn could come into the frame for Darcy Moore,” Herald Sun trade expert Jay Clark said on today’s episode of Trade TV.
“James Frawley is coming to the end of his footy, Jarryd Roughead might not be at the club next year, I just wonder whether a versatile-key position player like Darcy Moore would fit Hawthorn’s needs.
“Clearly they’re an astute club that doesn’t give overs for anyone so maybe they’re in the market with a second-round pick ... they’re a club that could come from left field.”
Clark and Jon Ralph also said Bulldog Marcus Adams was a strong chance to return to Western Australia, Port Adelaide would be “insane” to trade Chad Wingard and Swan Gary Rohan isn’t worth more than a third-round pick in a trade with Geelong.
They also answered questions about the future of a host of players including Daniel Menzel, Mitch McGovern, Jesse Hogan and Luke Parker, and the “weird” trade talk linking Kangaroos ruckman Braydon Preuss to Melbourne.

JESSE HOGAN
Jon Ralph: “I’m in the ‘stay’ camp. His management says he’s happy, he’s settled ... Jesse’s never actually said, ‘I want to leave the club’.
Jay Clark: “I reckon he had a chat to Freo at the end of last year. (If he left) you’d want two first-round draft picks then you try to turn those two picks into a Josh Kelly type. I would trade Jesse Hogan out and that star midfielder in.”
LACHIE NEALE
JR: “According to those close to (Neale) he has all the information he needs, now he’s got a couple of weeks to work through it. (Fremantle CEO Steve) Rosich basically said he was just up in Brisbane for a holiday and he just happened to run into the Brisbane coach — that’s ridiculous.”
JC: “I think it is almost a $1 million-a-year offer. I don’t think he’s sitting down having lunch with Chris Fagan without being pretty keen to explore that option. And if Freo do trade him that gives them the impetus to get Hogan, the key forward they have long desired.”
DANIEL MENZEL
JC: “Why on Earth does St Kilda need another marking forward? He’s a good player, he’s just not the right style of player for St Kilda.”
GEELONG ‘AT THE CROSSROADS’
JR: “I think you have to give Wellsy (recruiter Stephen Wells) the keys to the city again and that’s top-10 picks. Of their last 10 trades Nakia Cockatoo was pick 10 and then they’ve had players in the 11-20 range and they haven’t nailed them — Jackson Thurlow, Billie Smedts, Mitch Brown, Menzel, Darcy Lang — my point is give him the very best picks you can and he might get you the next Joel Selwood.”
JARRYD ROUGHEAD
JC: “This is one for me that’s felt really awkward ... I don’t expect him to be a the footy club next year and whether it’s Carlton or another club, I think he still has some good footy to play.”
LUKE PARKER
JR: “The jungle drums keep beating. If you’re going to lose Dan Hannebery you’re not going to lose Luke Parker, but everyone believes it’s the kind of trade period now where no one is unobtainable ... clubs are going to have a shot at the stumps.”
JC: “You have to ask the question if you’re Essendon, and Tom Scully is another you’d ask the question of.”
JR: “It’s a no right now but we’re a long way from the end of the trade period.
MITCH McGOVERN
JR: “There are some links to Sydney, his camp says no, it all goes really easily if (Carlton) gets that mid first-round priority pick.”
BRAYDON PREUSS
JC: “I don’t get that one. If there was a club you don’t want to go to it would be Melbourne, with Max Gawn the best (ruckman) in the competition and assured to start every game. Maybe it’s a money thing but it’s a weird thing for me.”
ANDREW GAFF
JR: “I think even his management doesn’t know. What I think is that if he leaves, West Coast won’t be surprised.”
JACK STEVEN
JC: “I think St Kilda has knocked that on the head but there is no doubt Geelong did make an initial inquiry. They would burn the house down at Moorabbin if he leaves.”
