Shane Mumford expects to hear former teammate Rhyce Shaw’s voice amid the din at Blundstone Arena on Sunday.
“A bit like (brother) Heath, they never really shut up, the two of them,” jokes the Giants ruckman.
Mumford and the Kangaroos caretaker coach played in the same Sydney Swans side before the former left to join the Giants ahead of the 2014 season.

The experienced Giant has nothing but admiration for the job the elder Shaw has done in a short time at the Roos’ helm after the departure of Brad Scott.
There has been talk this week a win over the Giants in Tasmania will seal the job for Shaw, although North Melbourne released a statement saying a selection panel was now in place “to identify and interview only the very best the industry has to offer, with a view to making an appointment in the coming months”.
Mumford said there’ll be absolutely no favours from the Giants when it comes to Shaw nailing a permanent gig. An away win is all that matters.
“He’s done a tremendous job in his first couple of weeks but let’s hope he doesn’t do too good a job this weekend,” Mumford said.
“Rhyce was always a strong leader on the field. He always had a good football brain.”
The Giants will look to bounce back from last week’s defeat by the Crows.
“We’ve got to improve on what we dished up last week,” Mumford said.
“We knew it was going to be tough going to Adelaide and they managed to get the win in the end.
“We know North Melbourne play the ground down there really well so I’m expecting another fierce contest. Hopefully this week we’re on the right side of the ledger.”
The Giants have finalised their side with Toby Greene, Matt Buntine, Sam Reid and Brent Daniels making up the interchange.
The clash sees a debut for former decathlete Jake Stein, with coach Leon Cameron telling the 25-year-old ahead of the trip: “We know you’re gunna give them hell for us.”
“He’s naturally fit, he’s got natural speed and he’s worked on all the little things you need to work on to become a defender,” Cameron said.
“To have more and more players come out of western Sydney is just a great thing for the club.
“Toby was borderline last week, he’s really keen to get out there. We all want continuity with him. He wants continuity.
“We know it’s going to be one hell of a clash and we are going to have to do everything right to make sure we salute in this game.”
